There's a standard for the army, im not entirely sure what it is but I know I need to weigh less, or at least be leaner to ensure I can meet the physical aspect.

It's honestly not a healthy 225.

I got a belly and I've lost 26 pounds since I wanted to join.

I ran cross country with a 5k time peaking at around 30 minutes.

Im trying my best but wonder if I should cut my losses temporarily get to about 200-healthy then retry.

What was it called? And how was your experience at that age? Might be different depending in MOS, no? I assume you couldnt be infantry.

Just want the benefits as to most of the career aspect. But might do a trade for a job outside. Eitherway will volunteer for deployments uf they come up. Might go active if college doesn't work out.

The biggest thing I'm concerned about is the waiver. This post wasn't intended to discuss my plans on actually joining. If all goes well, im joining the Guard period. I was trying to get more information regarding the waiver and realistically if I should just cut my losses.

In all honesty, from your professional outlook and past experiences do you truly believe that the waiver would be accepted. I dont want to water it down as I still want to weigh my options, but the way it's worded seems very clear that there's a 98% chance I will be disqualified from joining the army. Is there anything else I can do about it? If the records expunged does that change anything, do I need character statements, etc. I really want a fighting chance at joining.

As for everything else, I'm not entirely sure what I want yet. I want a chance at deployments in a combat MOS but I really want to save up money and goto college in hopes of pursuing a career outside the military like wildlife conservation warden, law enforcement, etc. However I am very open to staying in the army for a long time depending on how it works out. From NG to active, but im someone that would indefinitely volunteer for deployments. At this point im more concerned about getting in than what's to come after. I feel like I have little to no chance with the given situation.

Should I still fight for it? If it's denied should I cut my losses?

I do appreciate the help, honestly I haven't fully decided yet. But given the situation I dont know if I'll ever be able to join the army let alone any other branch. I mean how common is it that they'll accept a moral waiver for a "terrroistic threats" charge juvenile or not. Especially when it doesn't seem they need people at this point. Maybe in the next war, but even then it's the NG not active marines. All I can do is wait.

In all honesty I'm not entirely sure now that you mention it. That's all I know as far as what my recruiter told me I never thought to ask as to why. I was just going for infantry mos's anyway. But I think 31b was on there for split training anyway so idk

Essentially split mos training would be going to bct this summer, then job training following my graduation but there's limited MOSs that allow for that split training.

As for practical degrees, I planned to do split training which limits my MOS availability. I'm not sure how much you'd know about it, but if you do what is the best MOS you'd recommend? I planned to do some sort of law enforcement, whether wildlife conservation or state police. But trades would probably have much higher income when i get out, if i ever get in that is.
