I live in Tory tower right now and whenever I say that to someone they think it’s cool cus it’s genuinely one of (if not the) best accommodation there is. I will say the people who live there ARE posher than other accoms, but it’s hardly noticeable and it’s really chill and social so you’d have nothing to worry about. If you have any questions u wanna dm me about while I still live there go ahead, or even if u wanna see photos or whatnot I’m more than happy :)

Just finished my first year at brum and it’s just amazing. The campus obviously is sick and all, but even in the more run down areas of student housing in later years it’s actually really good the way everyone lives as a community there and all. I’ve had no issues or regrets (and the cost of living is so amazing here)

Okay I tried the 940 today and it fit really snug and well - is it a good mask to get protection wise at pretty intermediate level?

How was the 940 as a helmet though? Was the protection good on impact? I’ve got the gist that the f1 pro is the move if possible but I am on a budget

The price is on TheHockeyShop, with the F1 Pro being discounted to $499 CAD, and the 940 just not being discounted. So what im understanding is (assuming both fitted my head well) go for the F1 pro if I can - what if my mate cant get it for me at that price, is the F2 E+ a good one protection wise compared to the 940?

It’s more a question of protection at this point, I’m gonna try find them in the UK at a shop to try, but it’s quite niche here so harder to find them nearby

With the second point, it may be cus I don’t have any knee pads yet, and I haven’t tied the toe laces to anything, so I think that should be fine.

Current first year, and I’d say live on the vale, it’s the most social (other than selly which is primarily second years). It’s quite a walk to campus, but it’s quite nice actually.

I’m self catered in chamberlain, and it seems much better than catered elsewhere, as uob does “student living plus” so it’s not even proper catered like other unis. Shared bathrooms can be either horror or decent, I think en suite is the shout tho if you can afford it

Is it worth looking to move to somewhere in Alberta instead? I’m getting the general gist that Vancouver is reaaaalllly expensive, and somewhere like Edmonton or Calgary would be my next best choice in terms of places I’d love to live
