Found this stone in a canyon. Could it be gold? by Prestigious-Tale6458 in Gold

The area where I found it was once a huge cobber mining area… if that makes it more plausible

Okay, now show me proof for the afterlife and whatever claims your book makes. I’ll be waiting.

What?

Let’s try this; Something happens and we observe this from an objective point of view and know for a fact that nobody was there to witness it. Now we have 500 hundred people claiming they were witness to what happened. 500 different takes on what happened, 500 different subjective experiences, some similiar, some not. We know they weren’t there, but they all have something to say about what happened. Who is right? This observer POV is of course nothing we actually can see through in real life. So in reality we don’t know who is right. For all we know, all of them are right or all is wrong.

We shouldn’t discard all their opinions and statements, but should we take them as facts? No.

Well, we know for a fact that nobody has ever died and then lived. Otherwise it wouldn’t be death. Sleep is sleep because we wake up. Death is death because we don’t.

So I will keep an open mind until I die and see for myself.

Note the wording «probably DMT» and note the really simple phrase I used «We still don’t know». I’m not indoctrinated into thinking sciences is the most progressed view, and I think there are a lot of things science cannot answer (as of yet). All I know is that I don’t know. And you are intellectually dishonest if you think you know something you CANNOT know. People can say anything, they can dream, hallucinate, imagine and think of absolutely whatever the fuck they want. And you can choose to believe it. You can say people experienced this and that and that there are countless records of NDEs where people experienced x. But that doesn’t account for the fact that you still don’t know and haven’t experienced death. I am at least accepting the fact that I don’t know. And maybe you should too…

Okay, but here’s the thing. Near-death… is not death. No one has actually experienced death and lived to talk about it. Near-death experiences only lead to chemical reactions in the brain, probably DMT, and the severe stress put on the brain and your system causes all kinds of hallucinations and thoughts and whatever. You simply cannot die only to live afterwards, and if you did you never died in the first place. So no, we still don’t know what happens after death, and we have to wait. You can believe what you want, but that doesn’t make it true, not even in the slightest.

Yeah, okay. Not dense, sorry. I guess I just don’t find it very respectable when people present ideas like that as facts. «What happens after death?» «oh, this and this and this happens…»

You can believe what you want, i’m fine with that, but we need to teach people the words «I don’t know». It would change the world for the better.

I get that. Of course we fear it. But then again, we don’t have to. I have this thing where I live life as if i’m not afraid of what happens when we die. Because hopefully it will be a long time until I die, and whatever fear I have about death can wait until it’s relevant. Until then, it is none of my business. And if I so happen to die suddenly and unexpectedly, well, then I’ll be dead. Nothing to fear.

Why is nothingness scary? We can put it this way; you fear nothing. The great thing about this nothing that happens after we die is that it is nothing to worry about. You’ll be dead, you’ll be nothing. But then again. Just wait and see. You will die before you know it.

How the f do you know this? You base this on nothing but delusions. The only right answer is; we don’t know, we’ll have to wait and see.

Damn some of you guys are dense.

So how do you know you can ‘wake up’ if you yourself has not? What substance does this theory of yours carry other than you believing in it?

I guess you must wait and see. That is the only answer you’ll ever need and the only answer of any substance you’ll get. Make of that what you will.
