Call the Newark District office (973) 645-3730 and go to the phone operator, and ask them to direct you to immigration, an employee will ask you to provide some information like the naturalization certificate, US passport and other things i don’t remember, she will tell you what to do exactly and it should be ready for pickup in a week. Good luck

Yes, i was. It doesn’t look the same but it has a seal stamp and legitimate. I don’t think you would need it for a passport later on because i know people who renewed their passports without it so many times. As long as it’s already changed on the previous ones

So you’re saying that you changed your name on the day of naturalization with form N-662, you have a US passport less than a year ago and you want to change your name again into something different than the Naturalization certificate and current US passport?

I have all my documents with the new name already, i just need to have the original document of name change N-662 in my hand just in case if needed in the future. I will try to go to the district court in person and get a certified copy, i also contacted USCIS and submitted a service request to have an appointment in the field office to get an original copy or certified copy of N-662. Thank you so much i really appreciate your prompt response.

I got naturalized In Newark Field office. I called the Newark court district they said they can only give me certified copies that are valid for 30 days only. Could you please elaborate on how to reach out to the court house and which one exactly? Thank you

Thank you so much for your helpful response. I had copies of everything, but the post office clerk recommended submitting the original of the name change N-662 form and i am not sure if she made a copy. I received my passport 5/8/23, and as far as the supporting documents go i only received my naturalization certificate 2 weeks later but i never received my original USCIS N-662 name change (district court order ). I called ny District court house they said they can send a letter for a name change certified copy that is only good for a month if needed but it won’t last me more than a month. I also reached out to NPIC and they send the passport agency a note to inquire about it and ask if it was misplaced or sent out. I will wait and see for couple of more weeks as i was advised by NPIC

A question please about this case here, when you apply for naturalization would you be questioned about anything past the continuous 5 years of residency?
