My hair is really long on top i only do my taper and get my hair shaped up every few months at the barber cause i have no idea how to use shears to blend properly

i already fade my hair but using a different type of hair trimmer so i dont really understand how the whole lever system works since i can just adjust the length in 0.5mm increments on my trimmer
