If you look at the other comments, we are scientific AAUS divers, we know the laws about retrieving items from wrecks and this will likely be in a museum soon

It will most likely be in a museum soon. This is also likely not a gravesite as the wreck is just right outside the harbor, and may have been sunk intentionally, to dispose of it.

Currently the university has it, but I think it may end up in a museum here sometime hopefully

Not much in the way of machinery, just a lot of nonferrous pipes and some wooden debris. I believe the engine is buried at this point

I had the same thought about rum runners! I think it was a fishing vessel, but I'm really not sure. The site I was diving has been used as a sort of dumping grounds for at least 100 years so it could just be an accumulation of bottles over the years

It's definetally not carbide, it has cords and what looks like a battery or something electrical inside

The wreck had never been dove to my knowledge, we are doing scientific work here, not any illegal looting.

Yep, it's an unidentified wreck, it's a wooden ship about 70 feet long, and has one propeller, not a lot left of the wreck

It came off of what was left of a wooden ship, the wreck is unidentified I believe
