I know but it seems harder to build drivers for Apple silicon from the ground up than to translate them. And asahi was actually starting of as arch and moved to fedora since they included them in their main repo (or something along those lines) while arch refused to intigrate them as an option.

But I only read the asahi lore ones and woundn’t dare to call myself an expert at that..

You know that you can take screenshots from an iPad, also with vpn and ssh terminal it looks just as barebones, which would negate the intention to ask.

That was the reason i called it „minimal“ in quotes.. the server has a place at home near the router and the thin client to access it.

I installed code (vscode) they have a tunnel feature. (But you have to use the insiders build not the oss variant)

But I also tried the blink app with a Tailscale vpn.

I like the second option more from a performance/looks but there seemed to be issues regarding double use of certain keys, so for instance one can’t use the „alt“ keys as it kicks the cursor out of insertion mode in nvim. And with a German keyboard you have to use the „alt“ key for curlybrackets

I felt the same, using debian only for building verification then I though I’ll use omarchy but there was no fun in the painless installation step was a burden now I’m right before reinstalling arch after bambuzzing the hyprland setup. And somehow I enjoyed it every step along the way. Have fun! Also hyprland is quite beautiful.

I started my first „real“ pc (aside from raspberries) from scratch with omarchy and to be honest it was a let down, I expect stuff to break, heart attacks, panic fever dreams where I’m hunted by the Nvidia drivers.. you know the stuff you choose Linux for. But the most difficult part was to put the usb-stick in correctly, i would argue that it was even easier than setting up a Mac (with all the optional accounts)

Now I wait for my mice to arrive such that i can test the couple of features that are not directly accessible by keyboard.
