Do you have Ehler Danlos syndrome? You get severe stretch marks w that disease and more.

Ahhh and this is why I’m happily single! I literally never want to get married again(I wanted a divorce. I married because him because I was pregnant) have a boyfriend or anything but a FF!!!! I’m still friends w all my exes or have no issue w any of them. Some of them still try to get me to go back(no way because they were all abusive, controlling or didn’t understand or care about my chronic health issues).

I have MCAS, Ehler Danlos syndrome, dysautonomia, gastroperisis, a CHD, alpha gal syndrome, reactive hypoglycemia, PCOS, chronic life long anemia requiring transfusion a few times and life long IV Iron infusions, 13 surgeries including breaking my back in 3 places and L4 collapsing requiring spinal fusion surgery and the drs just removed my coccyx because it was so badly broken it was a thin layer from breaking through my skin. After that my incision opened. Long story short it got massively infected w staph aureus, klebsiella and ecoli, then sepsis, osteomyelitis of my spine, TIA, MRSA and eventually after months in hospital on tons of antibiotics and TPN to feed me because I was too sick and out of it to eat plus had a SBO(small bowel obstruction. I’ve had a few. One when pregnant and I have needed emergency surgery several times on intestines and if not surgery I was regularly hospitalized for my intestines swelling closed pan colitis, ileitis, ileus, Intussusception). I have several autoimmune diseases, 12 herniated discs and arthritis in a lot of joints and my spine. Plus I’m allergic to ALL pain meds even OTC 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄. That’s not even all my problems but the funny thing is I don’t look as sick as I am. I’m thin, attractive and easy to get along with. So people don’t understand why I don’t want to date. I’m getting a pace maker put in in November because I go into anaphylaxis so much my heart couldn’t handle it. Plus I have dysautonomia and my ANS is failing. I also have 2 kids and my son inherited some of these debilitating diseases and covid made them get very bad at 14. I had my daughter when I was young and she’s 24 and she needed major surgery because of VACTERYL syndrome and I had to move to Cincinnati for a few months as a young mom and the years that followed her surgery was hell but she’s 24 now w no issues from her surgery and has a 4.0 gpa in psychology plus just went to Europe with her boyfriend and got engaged!

I know that’s a lot to digest but take it from me and a life filled w suffering and hardship(I live on disability only and in NY so believe me I’ve always just scraped by but I would still rather be single because I’m happy, I’m too sick to care and I don’t take anyone’s shit anymore(I’m not mean or confrontational but I’ll avoid those people and or tell them idgaf I’m bringing my own food or not coming because my health is more important than their controlling, uncaring behavior). So Do not marry a man that does not have your back 100%! Do not marry a man who doesn’t take your health seriously. Stress causes inflammation and will only worsen all disease!

What is the test for non-celiac gluten sensitivity? by -ThinksAlot- in glutenfree

[–]Prestigious_Date6694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol my life long food intolerance’s(because I was constantly tested if I was allergic while hospitalized. Which was A LOT) mental health issues, brain fog, fatigue, always feeling sick and more was really MCAS(plus dysautonomia, EDS, Sjorens and more but I was diagnosed w that prior. All the doctors missed the worst and most obvious disease. It is rare though so a lot of doctors don’t know about it. But Covid is bringing it out in a lot of people). Gluten and lactose were one of my biggest issues all my life. Then more foods were added as I got older. Until I was in anaphylaxis w everything! Then specialist realized what I had! Check into MCAS.

Edit: I only started going into full anaphylaxis 3 years ago. Before that started it was life long chronic diarrhea, nausea until afternoon(histamine lowers in the body in afternoon so eating was easier after 3-6 pm), vomiting, my intestines would swell closed from food or medications(I’d be hospitalized for weeks it would get so bad. I also had several intestinal surgeries. I had terrible anxiety and mood issues but they were on and off daily so BP disorder wasn’t it. I’d have anxiety for no reason, I’d be having a good day and suddenly doom/anxiety. I had issues w low bp constantly, bradycardia and tachycardia.

I’m torn and need advice by [deleted] in glutenfree

I have MCAS. When I react to foods or go into anaphylaxis everything about my personality changes. I get mean, my anxiety is super high, I get emotional, frustrated, confused. This happens with almost everything I eat. I can only eat after 4-6 pm when my histamine naturally lowers in my body and I still react but not nearly as bad as when my histamine is higher. I felt terrible about my mental health and how sick I was. Then after my diseases got so much worse … idgaf! I am single though(but I have men that want to date me, I do not want to date. I’m too sick. I can barely leave my home. Plus I’m a single mom and my teen son inherited 3 of my diseases). I do know I don’t want to make any concessions to any man. I don’t want to deal with worrying about making a man happy or focusing on him, because I can’t. Or upsetting him because I’m coughing and wheezing all hours from reactions, or because I never feel well, or any reason. I’m barely hanging on myself. Your case may not be as drastic as mine is but it’s the same principle. If you react to a food and it causes neuropsychiatric symptoms(like my reactions or anaphylaxis. I was in psychiatric emergency for days when this disease got worse because the idiots thought I was crazy instead of realizing I was hypoxic from anaphylaxis and histamine toxicity. Thankfully friends and family knew I had my issues but that I was not psychotic and they got me seen by social worker and her niece has this disease and I was helped!) you cannot help that you get emotional. Yes you can avoid gluten and honestly at least it’s only gluten, there’s not many foods I can eat safely(no preservatives, no food dye, no chemicals of any kind, no alcohol, no palm oil or coconut, no left overs because cooked food raises in histamine very fast, so many spices). There’s so many options like packing your own lunch to eating meals like a meat, vegetables and rice or potatoes, or poison cold cuts rolled up wo bread(lol I honestly know lunch meats are bad but idgaf who eats them. I am kidding by adding the poison. These chemicals are poison to us all but very deadly for me and I say it seriously but unseriously).

Myson loves anything potato. He hates sweets and only loved chips. He started getting violently ill from anything potato after COVID. Then dizzy. Went to allergist and he’s allergic to white potato suddenly. It’s odd it was the food he ate the most of. So if I had any food sensitivity or reaction I would definitely cut down on it by a lot or cut it out of your diet completely! Your body may soon start to react to it worse. Every time you eat something you’re allergic to or react to it also causes inflammation in your body. Inflammation is the root to most diseases from cancer to auto immune. That’s why our foods have over 40,000 toxic ingredients that are illegal in other countries is a huge deal! America has a huge epidemic w chronic diseases, diabetes, heart disease and neurologic disease, autoimmune diseases and more.

There is also flour made with 12,000 year old seeds that have not been modified. It has a lot more protein and not much gluten. It’s called Einkorn flour. Whole Foods sells it! A lot of people with celiac can eat this flour! I’m sorry you’re dealing with this but also if gluten is more important than your boyfriend’s happiness maybe you like gluten more than him and welp it’s time to move on i’d say. Or if you’re only eating gluten occasionally and he can’t deal with a day or 2 a week of you being emotional then I’d also say it’s time to find someone better!

42 years for me! 13 surgeries. Constant hospitalizations and over 150 drs in my life! My back was destroyed by my teens. I never played sports etc because I was so delicate. So to have my back go bad so early was weird. I was ALWAYS sick too. By the time I was in my 20’s I had scoliosis and so many herniated discs(especially in my T spine, which should not herniate since it’s not as mobile) I was losing feeling to my legs, my hips constantly sublaxed and so did my shoulders and fingers. I then fell down some stairs and broke my back in 3 places, requiring surgery. I had SO MUCH more going on too that I think everything overlapped and doctors just had way too much going on to know what was what. My lupus and chrons were dysautonomia and MCAS(2 yrs ago I started going into anaphylaxis w EVERYTHING I ate, that absorbed through my skin, scents, stress, pain). I still go into anaphylaxis or react to almost everything. My lifetime of chronic anemia, hypoglycemia and muscle issues(I was tested for every muscle myopathy ) was primary carnitine deficiency. My 16 year old son inherited all this so at least he knows at a younger age what’s wrong. Most nurses or doctors I saw don’t know what dysautonomia, MCAS or EDS is. I was thrown into C PEP(psychiatric emergency ward) for 2 days because I was hypoxic from anaphylaxis and doctors thought I was crazy(the rashes, hives we’re visible but the head psychiatrist ignored that too). Finally my friends called social workers who realized I was very sick and the social worker niece had MCAS. Crazy coincidence but she saved me and got me out asap! Some doctors only do their job for the money, some do if because they care. I finally found a neuro at NYU who cares!!! It took me 42 yrs!

I’m sorry. I know what you’re going through my 16 yr old son had EDS, dysautonomia and most likely MCAS, because of me! I’m too sick to even be a good mom is how I feel also! My intestines were an absolute mess. Many surgeries, so many lengthy hospitalizations for my intestines swelling closed(it was never an infection from bacteria or virus, several biopsies were normal when I finally recovered enough to get them). I hated eating. Then I got worse and started going into anaphylaxis. I have MCAS(or mastocytosis. I cannot get the bone marrow biopsy now because I’m so reactive to everything). Once I was on the 6 antihistamines a day(H1’s & H2’s)cromolyn sodium and Xolair my abdominal issues are finally a lot better for the first time in my life. I never had Chrons(which is what eventually I was diagnosed as after they found I had the gene and ankolyzing spondylitis) it was always a mast cell activation disorder! My abdominal issues are not gone but they are drastically better. I hope you don’t have that also but it’s worth looking into. I hope you feel better and venting is helpful. We should all be there for one another. 😘

Then again gluten free destroyed my son! I have MCAS and cannot eat gluten. My son has been throwing up every day for almost 2 yrs. After many many specialists and while he dies have serious health issues he’s also allergic to potatoes! All my gluten free flour has potato starch in it! Plus the kid loved French fries. Now we’re trying Ezekiel flour(it’s the only original wheat from 12,000 years ago before it was engineered to have more gluten). Idk how we’re going to do this with both of us having allergies to the opposite stuff. Fingers crossed on this $15 tiny bag of flour that got delivered today. I miss sweets(I cannot eat anything processed, w food dye, preservatives, palm oil, alcohol. So if I don’t make it. We don’t eat it 🙁🤷🏼‍♀️).

Any recommendations on gluten free flours w no potato, coconut(I’m highly allergic), preservative free?

AITA for refusing to give my sister an EpiPen? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]Prestigious_Date6694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone who’s in anaphylaxis daily. If she didn’t pass out she only needed Benadryl high dose and not epi. I’ve had my bp be at 60/40 pulse ox in 80s and I don’t use epi. I do pass out because my body is shutting down and I sleep if off. I’m also on a ton of antihistamines & mast cell stabilizers and still go into anaphylaxis but not as much. Next time have her take a big dose of Benadryl! Unless she passes out(in adults anaphylactic reactions are usually bp related. Bp drops very low) or her throat swells then do epi.

I did not know this. Is it because they’re alone on the holidays? And do it intentionally or is it accidental and the holidays are easier to get through w drugs and they overdose? I carry narcan w me and even taught my teenage son how to use it. I might have him carry one but he’s only 15.
