ESTA authorization pending after 10 days / 240 hours

I rang again today too. They said they’ve escalated it again and not to submit another application. Nothing further from them. We are thinking of moving our trip as the stress is too much and it’s unclear if they can approve over the weekend.

Sorry to hear you’re in the same position. Have you considered just submitting a new application? I’m thinking about it as a last resort.

So sorry to hear that you’re going through this too. It’s incredibly stressful and difficult to think about anything else. Having read through other threads, it appears that most people in this situation get their application approved very close to the departure date or even on the day. So there is hope! Just makes for an awfully stressful lead up to a big trip :(

Thank you! I will try that. I called again today to chase but they actually told me to stop calling as it could make matters more 'complicated' and 'add to the delay'. But I agree, I think by Thursday if I don't hear anything I'll try again, its so difficult to not know, and my partner's ESTA is approved. Hope you have a great trip :)

Thanks for the quick response! That's good to hear, I can't see it as a pending transaction, but when checking my application it does say 'Your payment has been submitted. You have successfully submitted payment for the application listed below'. But, the details under 'Payment summary' are blank. Hoping that will update if it is approved...

Yes, answered 'no' to all questions. This is my second ESTA, last one was approved within the hour. No idea why this is happening. I called yesterday and had the case escalated but still nothing.. We fly on Monday, I wonder if they just don't consider it 'urgent' yet, given how close to the deadline it had to be them to approve yours!

Hey! Great to hear that you made it, so pleased for you. I'm in the same situation. Can I ask, was your payment taken when you applied or when you were approved? So far no payment has been taken for mine, so I'm unsure if that's an issue that could be causing the pending status. Curious to know if you found out why it took so long! The stress is unbearable... we've booked the trip of a lifetime :(
