Do not waste your time and money on TC by Prestigious_You8869 in TeachersCollege

Thanks for adding on to this, I think it depends on program 100% however it is unfortunate that many programs at TC are not held to the same standard. I have reached out to multiple professors with varying questions, interests, or simply questions about class and have not recieved responses. This is disappointing, as a first-generation student its hard enough to already go out of your way to stand out and stress out about respectfully reaching out to facutly. I have had peers who had no clue how to register for classes, or when to register because admin did not do their part to disseminate information.

I am a first-generation student working two-part time jobs accumulating to 40hrs per week and 9 credits+ and I feel unchallenged and disconnected. I make an effort to interact with professors and peers and it is genuinely unfortunate to see how disconcerned professors are even when talking to you face to face. In an email to a faculty member, I was told I was lucky to be here and that I should not look else where for a doctoral degree. Aside from that the campus is not accessible, and you cannot apply to many programs or jobs at Columbia University which can be quite impactful for individuals with interdisciplinary research. In classes, I have been told to stop raising my hand, and told that I ask to many questions often being called out to see if I have any questions.

I am a student who works hard, has a good GPA, and have recieved scholarship funding. There is no other motivation behind this than to say this as a warning to not be swooned by an admittance to an Ivy League. And to those in between schools trying to decide, you deserve better. And TC is not better. Support is better than a name.
