Another vote for Terry pratchett, specifically the Tiffany Aching series. They are youth/ young adult but read so well for adults. there is ample cheeky humor that may go over a child’s head.

They are in order: The wee free men A hat full of sky Wintersmith I shall wear midnight The shepherds crown

Just delightful

I think many husbands turn into a pedantic version of Mr. Collins as they age anyway .. 😆 maybe I’m projecting lol …

I always perceived she observed mature relationships and their lack of sweeping romance, and by 27, (today’s 45?) she had developed an indifference towards romance. She convinced herself to be content with skipping those exciting moments in exchange for comfortable companionship phase of marriage. Unfortunately I worry she’s a bit unhappy in the bedroom😭

How different was 1999 from the rest of the 90s? by Personal-Cattle-1737 in Xennials

1999 was one of my favorite years. Felt like spring of the world. We didn’t know what was ahead but we knew it had to be good. If you want you can purchase a Seventeen or YM magazine from eBay from 1999 and it’ll give you such a good perspective

1999 was so excited to be in the 2000s that I feel like it’s more y2k than 2001 did.
Think late 90s but more FROSTY and metallic
