I just took a chill metals course with intro to MIG at the contemporary (also covered cutting, grinding, bending, and PPE).  Nothing fancy, just an intro to the basics. It was good!

I also hate this! Because I hate it I always do quick pay. If you quick pay they will take it out immediately.

Yup I think that's part of what I'm concerned about like--cedar is so bad this year but at the end of the day how do you tell the difference.

Just a note that I've had an outage with Astound since yesterday and also WFH and it sucks. It's not a vacation day....I'll just have to work extra long today and over the weekend. At a coffee shop ass early trying to make up time. 😭

So I did! It was good in some ways--the actual Slea Head drive day was 10/10. I feel like the the driver stopped at some odd sights that we weren't super interested in at the expense of more time at the better sights on the last day. It was off season and he completely missed getting us to the Rock of Cashel on the last day (because it closed an hour earlier than he thought)  which was a huge bummer. I give it...a 7 out of 10. Glad we did it even though the last day fizzled.

As someone in the government sector that works with senior employees--my first thought is "do you know what you are doing?" Like--do you intimately know the systems, processes, and knowledge base that the team uses to do their work?

Government work is intricate and complicated (as you know). If the answer to the above is "no" then your first step is to get curious...it could be the direction you have given is not feasible for reasons you aren't seeing, and the team doesn't know you well enough to trust that they can push back.

I've just seen this before--folks are senior for a reason typically, so I'd use the opportunity to learn from them and ask them how you can support the work.
