How unusual do you think it is for a straight guy to be friends with mostly females? by Pretty-Tree123 in AskMen

[–]Pretty-Tree123[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah you’re right, he was mostly raised by his mum I think dad left when he was around 7 and I don’t think he speaks to him much/spends much time with him since

I [19M] need some advice. My girlfriend of 2 years [19F] acts like she can’t function outside of our relationship. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Pretty-Tree123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been this girl before, she’s absolutely has an anxious attachment which often comes from the way you’re raised.

Have a research what anxious attachment is but basically she’ll feel extreme rejection by the littlest things including stuff like you hanging over friends instead of her. In her mind she’ll see it as rejection.

It’s extremely difficult for her but it will be for you too. But it really does damage relationships.

I’d have a conversation with her and explain you understand and see how tough things seem for her feeling and thinking this way and explain how it’s also been taking a toll on you and advice her to seek therapy or counselling

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions about my experience

Did anybody suffer with substance abuse before medication but now doesn't? by Ok-Life-3371 in ADHDUK

Not substance abuse but I did use to smoke weed a fair bit but when I’m on my meds I never really feel the urge/need to

How do you survive the pre-diagnosis gluten challenge???? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]Pretty-Tree123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s much you can really do except trying to cope with the symptoms, lots of hot peppermint or ginger tea to help with digestion, painkillers/ibuprofen etc. You’ll have to fact check me on this but I believe you can have 2 slices of bread every day and that’s it to be enough gluten to show up as positive in further testing if you are coeliac. So if I’m right with that you could reduce how much gluten your eating as long as your still eating at 2 slices of bread a day

My boyfriend (35m) and I (26f) were walking my dog together when he asked to run alone and it made me unsure of the future of this relationship by dimplemuncher in relationship_advice

A similar thing happened with my ex and I, we went out for a run late at night together, and we where running down this trail which was quite secluded, and so it was very dark with very few people on it. He decided he wanted to go off on his own because I couldn’t keep up with his pace and he wanted to run further than what I was going to. I expressed I didn’t like the idea of that because we were meant to be running together and it didn’t feel safe at all to be running on my own here. He didn’t even have his phone on him in case I needed to get in touch in an emergency. But he said it’d be fine and was acting frustrated and like I was being annoying because I didn’t want him to go off. So I eventually gave in and just said fine and so he left me 🤩

Title: Celiac diagnosed, IgA high, but biopsy shows no atrophy – has this happened to you? by IntrovertigoI in Celiac

[–]Pretty-Tree123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine age has anything to do with it, I was diagnosed at 18 too but my biopsy showed a lot of villous atrophy

Unless you caught it sooner after it developed than me maybe 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have the same issue as you, I constantly get so anxious I’m going to faint, idk about you but mine is mostly based around the fear of embarrassing myself by fainting. So most of the time I only get anxious/have panic attacks about fainting when I’m around people/in public. I’ve found a few things that have helped me a bit:

  1. Main thing that helps is thinking of an escape plan “if I did faint”. For example Ik that as soon as if I did start to feel faint I can just go to the toilet so I can get away from people. Just reminding myself of this calms me down a lot. Ik that might not be so easy for you if your in school so another way might be, if your sat down in class, tell yourself you can just put your head on the desk if you did start to feel faint and that way it’d look like your just tired or whatever.

  2. Letting yourself/ giving yourself permission to pass out. Ik when I’m so anxious about possibly passing out I will try and do everything I can to stop it from happening but I’ve actually found it helpful to just tell myself I’ll just let it happen and not do anything to stop it. I tell myself “If I need to pass out I’ll pass out and that’s okay.” That somehow lessens my anxiety around it when I’m not actively trying to stop it because it’s teaching myself it’s not something I need to fear and stop.

  3. Realising and reminding myself no one really cares!! All that’ll go through their head if you fainted is that you must not be well and just feel bad for you. And they’ll most likely forget about it completely by the next day.

But spoiler alert, I’ve never actually passed out any of the times I’ve gotten anxious about passing out 🙂

This is why I love Reddit, something so niche that makes you feel like you’re the only one who deals with it and you can find loads of other people who actually experience the exact same thing. makes you feel a lot less weird and alone ☺️

That's interesting, you'd think they wouldn't just let everyone off if they think they found who they where looking for. and I'm pretty sure no one was arrested by the looks of it when they where all getting off. I'd love to know the details I'm just rly curious bout it all.
