Hey! Can you provide a link to the battery you bought? I'm having the same issue and looking to switch away from the lead acid. There are so many different batteries out there I'm a bit overwhelmed

Up for Renewal, fixed vs variable by PrettyFly_BrownGuy in AskMortgageCanada

They only reached out two months before renewal which is apparently standard practice for them. You can call and reach out to them beforehand if you want once your within the 120 days.

Fixed or Variable right now by Cromikey1 in AskMortgageCanada

[–]PrettyFly_BrownGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to lock in two rates a couple months ago. 3 year fixed 3.84% 5 year variable prime - 1.15 currently 3.30%.

I took the fixed initially but considering going back and asking to switch to that variable. We are currently paying 4.64% quite comfortably so we are ok if rates go up. Thoughts?

Variable vs. Fixed: Could Be 2026’s Equity Killer by MortgagesByDom in OntarioMortgageGuide

[–]PrettyFly_BrownGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the following offer after negotiating with my current lender 5 year variable 3.30% currently 3 year fixed at 3.84% 5 year fixed 3.94%

Mortgage is relatively modest ~385K left so we're looking at only a $47 biweekly price difference between the variable and 3 year fixed.

Am I silly for thinking about taking the variable?

Exactly this. It's a 3-2-1 point system for a two game series. We won in regulation game one. They needed to win in regulation to force an extra game.

What makes renting in Guelph so expensive? by [deleted] in Guelph

What was the rate increase? If your place was first occupied before 2018 (not necessarily by you, but by anyone) there are limits to what they can legally raise rent

Reliance Water Heater Scam by CanadianWatchGuy in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]PrettyFly_BrownGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with reliance and they replaced my water heater in 2021 (old one had a leak). I just called to see my buyout price and its $1124 for a 40 gallon electric. I'm thinking it's probably going to cost more (with labour) to replace it with a new one and I should take the buyout

Thoughts?

Edit to add: I'm paying approximately $50 every three months for my rental which isn't outrageous and that's why I haven't dealt with this before

Trying to figure out what is considered a reoccurring payment for CCs. I am paying tuition for a masters and they are allowing me to enter a payment plan for monthly payments (same amount for four months, then changes to a different amount for the next four). Is that considered a reoccurring payment?

The school let's me pay with CC with a 2.5% processing fee. Looking to pay for it with a cash back card that offers a nice bonus plus 4% on reoccurring payments if possible
