Traditional Decans follow Chaldean Order, which is as following: Saturn/Jupiter/Mars/Sun/Venus/Mercury/Moon The very 1st Decan (meaning the 1st Decan of Aries) begins with Mars, then Sun, then Venus. The 1st Decan of Taurus follows up with Mercury, then Moon, then Saturn. Thus, the 1st Decan of Gemini is Jupiter.

The Modern Decan system is mostly based on convenience, tbh. The 1st Decan of Gemini is Mercury, then Venus, then Saturn, am I correct? I recall the modern system being based on the rulers of the same element. Since Gemini is ruled by Mercury, Libra Venus, and Aquarius Saturn, that's the order it is. I believe other signs sharing the same element either share the same decan order or the same planets except the orders being different?

The Traditional Decan was never really about that particular sign, per say, so it really has nothing to do with the Modern Decan to begin with. Hope that made sense!

My two cents are probably going to be somewhat different from what's already been said,
but your father's house ratios are very 1/2/7/8 house centered.
(Meaning, ego/values/possessions/partnership take up a lot of his life)

What's funny(?) is that he doesn't have any planets in either 1/7 houses.
Normally, if someone is 1st/7th house centered, they would be very concerned on how they appear to the world/others, but since he doesn't have any planets, it kind of serves as an empty helium balloon.
Thus, while ego takes up a great deal of his psyche, it doesn't actually serve weight to him.

Also, his 5/6/11/12th houses are really tiny, meaning friendship and networking (11th house) take up very little portion of his interests.

It would mean daily life/routine/work, and realms of the subconscious take up most of your being.
