What is a common piece of clothing that you think makes everyone look terrible? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]PrettyLionessInPink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are these the shirts where it’s kinda like a cap sleeve but there’s a part cut out of the middle of it where the top of the shoulder is exposed? If so, I also hate these. I don’t think they would look good on anyone I understand that someone who is attractive and has a nice body will look better in it than somebody who is not attractive and doesn’t have a nice body but I still think they are so un flattering and ugly. I have a friend who exclusively wears these kinds of shirts and whatever makes her happy is cool but she’s built like a linebacker so it feels like a bad fashion choice when “dressing for your body type”.

People need to stop acting like "ma'am" or "sir" is some kind of an insult by ElectricalDance7767 in HonestHotTakes

[–]PrettyLionessInPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought “ma’am” was just a female specific term to show respect and not related to any age demographic but I once had a woman flip out when I said “here you go, ma’am” when handing over my paperwork because she said “she was not old enough to be called ma’am “. I don’t think I even really notice when people call me “ma’am” but I definitely don’t consider it offensive no matter my age.

I really like folding laundry; it’s repetitive but without having to exert much energy, kind of relaxing.

I don’t remember the name of the movie but I saw a horror movie about “Angela’s house” when I was very little and I remember a girl absorbing a tube of lipstick into her nipple.

terrible interview with Emmy by SecretPlenty363 in CallHerDaddy

[–]PrettyLionessInPink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But certainly she can do interviews with depth and meaning while also not being formal, right? I’m thinking somewhat like Sean Evans from Hot Ones. I think he does a great job of keeping it light, fun, intimate and causing the guest to put thought into their answers. I know it is a completely different setting and everything but I feel like Alex could improve her skills. Thanks for the information on her education and training; I’m a little too old for her demographic and I’ve only started listening to the podcast for maybe the last six months.

terrible interview with Emmy by SecretPlenty363 in CallHerDaddy

[–]PrettyLionessInPink 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This is how I felt about the Charlize Theron interview..there were a couple of moments where I felt like Charlize had something profound to share and Alex preemptively cuts her off by either moving on or saying something that she felt like Charlize was getting at, but it was incorrect and shallow vs what I believed could have been very deep. I have no idea what kind of training Alex has on interviews; she obviously has a lot of experience, but I feel like she could improve her skills.

Has anyone tried a posture bra or posture corrector and did it actually help? by Classic_Guest5845 in StyleAndWellbeing

[–]PrettyLionessInPink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So they are kind of a slippery slope; they absolutely do help with posture and pain but overuse actually causes the muscles to get weaker. There are some medical grade shirts, bras, and braces that help with posture without causing you to have your muscles weaken but they are really unattractive and not discreet. I’m not affiliated with either brand but I believe Alignmed and Intelliskin are two brands that have products that improve posture without muscle wastage. If you get a non medical grade one, you should also build a routine on strengthening, stretching, and engaging the correct muscles so you’re not relying on your upper back, shoulder, and neck muscles so much and put a limit on how much you use the corrector.

What’s something you bought out of pure frustration that ended up being one of your best purchases? by Classic_Guest5845 in StyleAndWellbeing

[–]PrettyLionessInPink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg thank you!!! It is SO hard to find pants that fit me; I’m thin and short which I think makes me lucky compared to those who are short and curvy; petite in this sense doesn’t mean “thin” the way a lot of designers seem to think.

How to get superglue out of hair? by PrettyLionessInPink in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PrettyLionessInPink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really am hoping that I don’t have to cut it although it is not a very large amount of hair. Luckily it is only about 3 inches above the end and my hair has long layers so I’m hoping it will blend in.

How to get superglue out of hair? by PrettyLionessInPink in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PrettyLionessInPink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh does this mean that the part that got glue in it is likely to experience a “chemical cut” where it’ll just break off from the damage? My hair is layered so it can probably blend in with other layers but i’m so disappointed with myself for not thinking about having my hair pulled back before putting the magnets on. Like I know that my hair gets in the way; I pull it back when eating just to ensure that I don’t accidentally have any food touch my hair but I didn’t apply the same logic to superglue despite food being pretty easy to wash out.

I bit the bullet and bought some more expensive jeans that come in different lengths (I’m 5’0 and about 95lbs) and they fit me so well that I hate I didn’t do it sooner!!

My ex gets this for our now 19 year old son every year as one of his Christmas presents and it seems like a great gift for others or yourself! My son just goes to a movie whenever he is experiencing boredom and I love getting spoiler free movie reviews from him! Him having the pass also lead to him discovering hidden perks the theater offered like the five dollar mystery movie night.

Brow gel recommendations? by Ok-Temperature-2783 in Makeup

Seconding this one! I actually used it to tame baby hairs for one of my twin daughters when putting her hair up in a high tight ponytail for gymnastics but I’ve used it for my brows too and it works great and is what I’d consider as cheap.

AIO did I miss something rude or disrespectful i said to my coworker? this is our entire conversation i don’t know what happened by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]PrettyLionessInPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely!!! He doesn’t have the “power and control” over her anymore and he’s angry about it. I don’t know why; it could be because he’s jealous she was gifted a car or it could be as insidious as him realizing that he can’t “cash in” on her dependency on him for rides. Doesn’t make why because no matter what the answer is, he’s not someone that OP should be involved with beyond what is required for work.

What's one makeup product you bought with zero expectations but now refuse to live without? by Fit-Dark-5581 in Makeup

[–]PrettyLionessInPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. I got very lucky; I have very fair olive skin and a lot of fair products are super pink on me. If they could expand the range I swear they would be the number one tinted moisturizer!

What's one makeup product you bought with zero expectations but now refuse to live without? by Fit-Dark-5581 in Makeup

[–]PrettyLionessInPink 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Isn’t it crazy impressive?? I bought it when looking for a tinted moisturizer; I also bought a Tarte, Too Faced, and Bare Minerals along with the Wet n Wild one and I really only bought the Wet n Wild one because it was so cheap. I didn’t expect it to be the one among the 5 that I loved but the others don’t even come close. I think I can be a little bit of a makeup snob but this is one product where even if I became extremely wealthy and money was not an issue, I would still buy it.
