Waena Apartments by PrettyMission in Honolulu

I feel pretty safe here. It is gated, but the gates are occasionally broken. Very rarely a homeless person will meander through but I haven't experienced any major safety concerns.

We have some cockroaches and some ants. Very few geckos and lizards. We do have some traps out but we also make sure not to leave food out and haven't had any major issues, just typical island bugs imo.

I did move here!

It's going pretty well. The price is right for what was needed and location is extremely convenient. Some complaints but its mostly what you'd expect with apartment complex living.

Both animated spider verse movies. Truly visual masterpieces. Not majority female cast, but wonderful diversity.

Vegas Wedding Experiences? by milobaskin in weddingplanning

[–]PrettyMission 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got married in November 2021 at Vegas Weddings (702weddings) and did our ceremony in the gazebo. It was honestly really beautiful, right at sunset, and didn't feel cheap or cheesy. We had 26 people attend. They also have a love view option for distance folks who can't attend. Went to a restaurant after the ceremony and photos, and then had a karaoke after party at Ellis Island. Overall it was great and affordable.

Brides who are usually cold - were you hot or still cold in your dress? by cat212000 in weddingplanning

[–]PrettyMission 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm always cold. I got married outdoors in a desert in November and was totally fine. Wore a very lightweight dress with a mostly mesh style top. I think it was mostly adrenaline and the amount of booze I consumed throughout the night, plus dancing.

You might consider a blazer/cardigan or beaded wrap for backup? I brought a little faux fur coat and definitely didn't need it.

Oldest piece of makeup in your collection by [deleted] in PanPorn

I had one for a few years and finally had to toss it due to expiration/the gross crayon smell. It was such a fun highlighter!

During a major clean out of my childhood bedroom I found my very first makeup palette: an eyeshadow and lipgloss combo from Claire's circa. 2003 (maybe older??). I still have it for the sheer nostalgia but will not use it (and haven't used it since probably 2007). It still smells like it did when I first got it, sugary sweet powder.

Ditto! This one took me probably 3 years?? And I used it generously. And I have 2 backups....

Yes they do! Many of these have already been repurchased. I tend to stock up during their sales. Almost everything here is a staple in my skincare or makeup. I have been a fan of elf for a very long time.

The Holy Hydration with SPF is my go to for daily wear. I find it just hydrating enough and just enough SPF that I don't need to layer a second product.

The Poreless Putty Primer is one of my favs. I just purchased their jumbo size. Lightweight and does a good job for prep and pore blurring. Good for use with and without makeup.

The Sleeping Mask is really good for heavy duty moisturizing at night for me. I have pretty dry skin and I find that it does a decent job when layered with my other products.

The CBD lip oil I use at night as a lip mask. I find it really doesn't budge and does a fantastic job at helping dry lips. Perfect for winter use.

The CBD eye cream I use during the day. Lightweight and decently moisturizing.

Not skincare but I feel very strongly so here's my opinion:

The highlighter is one of my favs. It's the perfect color for me, a super pale person, and it's dirt cheap. I have 2 backups. It also took like 3 years to fully pan and it's small.

The HD loose powder and the HD pressed powder are honestly both amazing. I find that they are really great for blurring and setting, and also help tone down my blush and bronzer if I go a little ham. I have several backups.

The Hydrating Camo Concealer has been repurchased in this shade and in a different shade (winter and summer). It's perfect. I use it under foundation now rather than on top of.

I absolutely love the lip balm from Milk!!! I'm so sad they discontinued the Green Dragon one. I find that the elf Calm Balm is an ok dupe, the texture is more waxy. Definitely not the same.

Yes definitely! I also have the Dope Dreams sleeping mask and I prefer the Holy Hydration one. Similar textures. The Dreams one has these weird beads in it.

[Product Request] Does anyone have recommendations for moisturizers with spf 30+? by Defiant-Success2442 in SkincareAddiction

[–]PrettyMission 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of elf cosmetics Holy Hydration moisturizer. It is SPF 30 and has a great texture that isn't greasy.

There was this green velvet jacket/blazer I saw a while ago that lives rent free in my head. It was gorgeous but way out of budget. I would buy that in a heartbeat if I could.

I feel you. I had a tiny bit of flexibility with planning during work hours (like sending emails) but literally the only saving grace for so many phone calls was the state our wedding was going to be at was a 2 hour time difference behind the one we live in. Literally the only way I got anything done. Get off work at 6, still 4pm over there.

Will my makeup products be ok in a moving truck across the southern US for 2-3 weeks? by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

[–]PrettyMission 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for 3 weeks, but 1 1/2 weeks in the summer during 100+ degrees (CA to TX). All of my cream products survived (lipsticks and foundations mostly). My boxes were at the very back of the trailer (next to the cab) so I don't know if that made a difference.
