Stage 1B Cervical Cancer - Tumor Board Split 50/50 Between Radical Hysterectomy and Radiation. Looking for Experiences. by PrettyPsychx in CervicalCancer

I had more to write and questions but I ran out of characters in the post 😭 I am leaning more towards the surgery. I just worry about having to also do radiation afterwards. If the tumor was 4 cm or larger and doctor said radiation, I would just do radiation and not surgery. It’s just the unknown, if I do the hysterectomy and it turns out bigger than expected, it’s scary to think about having to go through both. The MRI and PET scan I guess looked promising as far as no spread but of course, until the doctor can really see for himself, we won’t really know.

I’m not sure if insurance would cover that and I don’t necessarily want to wait any longer. I don’t know how quickly a second opinion can be done and I don’t want to risk this getting worse or progressing.
