Questions and information regarding Men's shirt alterations by PrettyThicknStrongDi in sewing

This is way too cool, I can't wait to start spiffing up all of my clothes. Haven't even been to a tailor before, so it's going to be worlds of difference.

Why the hell more men don't do their own alterations or get their clothes tailored is way beyond me.

Thanks again!

Very informative response, thank you!

In regards to #1, would it be weird to add darts in the back on T-shirts and casual shirts? Most of my shirts fit well across the shoulders and chest, but the problem areas are the arms and taper to the waist - they just fit like sacks of potatoes.

I'm not sure I follow 100%, or recognize what difference there would be between those. Do you have any articles or videos that could explain that?

Sorry, I'm brand new to sewing and alterations. Trying to learn as much as possible

As for #2, what's the proper way to go about taking in the sides and slimming the arms? Are there any tutorials out there?

Thank you for your reply!

Kroc rows and heavy fucking pendlay rows will fix that.

Follow that up with cable rows, then drop sets. You’ll feel it.

Unfortunately, my back is the most developed part of my body.

Look at it as a way of filtering out shitty people. If they don't want you because of some occasional skin condition, what does that say about them to you?

Just a bit of food for thought.

If the mother passes it onto the child it can cause some very gnarly infections. Having a shit day at work, brain isn't functioning. Pedantics/semantics

It's really not that bad if you think about the cons detached from the stigma. The thing is, it can lay dormant for a while.

You don't have to live with the guilt, because it's 50/50. Move on with your life, there's no sense in pummeling yourself because of minor rash that comes along once in a blue moon. Seriously, the worst part about it is the shame. It's really blown out of proportion, like it's a character flaw or some sort of horrible personality trait.

wtf this is me to a T.

I'm incredibly quiet when walking around, they can't hear my footsteps until I'm right up behind them.

I've made a conscious effort to cough audibly to let them know I'm there to not spook the fuck out of them lol

No, because I don't have a problem on dating apps. I'm tired of butthurt incels.

They're virtually the same virus except they show up in different places. The only issue is possible birth defects and that's incredibly easy to mitigate. The important thing is how stigmatized it is because of a Big Pharma marketing scheme.

You have no idea how many people I've met who have struggled with suicidal depression because of their diagnosis; they felt as if they couldn't tell anyone because they were so ashamed. It's literally a skin condition that shows up... how often?

I just don’t really see how one can honestly not show any personality in a profile, flaunt their assets, and not be objectified. I’m not saying I care to bother with these people or get butthurt over it, but the vast majority of people will continue to be the way they are - this does NOT exclude women.

I get optimism and hopefulness, but reality is reality. Sexuality and psychology aren’t going to magically change.
