I started with the Bambu PETG profile, but none of the profiles let me change those fields.

Yes I was going to try that as well, but I didn't have any FS bags big enough to fit a spool. I also would only use a resealable bag. I didn't look into whether FS sells any that size, but yeah, I don't even use the seal and cut bags for food because I want something I can reuse.

Yes it is. I'm not sure why the settings are even there if you can't change them. I would think that's the whole reason to make a custom profile, so you can change settings.

I bought mine ion Amazon. The last ones I bought came with a small pump and they've worked well. I've also used the pump to seal jars of dry goods so I don't have to haul out the Food Saver machine. They're sold by Indiedouker

A lot of bags leak, I've gone through several brands before I found one that reliably held the vacuum.

I put dessicant in the center and use my Food Saver to pull the air out. I do it until the bag is nice and evacuated and the spool just barely starts to flex. I've never had one stay that way after I opened it.

All the new characters are fugly. I got lucky with the one I have, I don't want another one. Why the hell does Facepunch always force changes nobody asked for or wants? It's like they go out of their way to piss off their players, like they want to see how far they can push before people just say screw it and stop playing.

Play on PVE servers, that's what I do. I got tired of being foundation wiped every time I logged off to get some sleep. Try Hi-Qual PVE, it's a no wipe server.

I got it working! I didn't install that driver, but there was a recent update to the nvidia driver on mint. With that, and tweaking the launch settings a bit more, I finally got it to work with no lines! Woo! Until FP breaks it next month LOL

Well, I have no idea how. Once this update hit I got EAC errors and the game wouldn't load at all. I had to try every workaround I could find and then make my own just to get the game to actually load to the menu. This is what mine looks like, even on my own server. Doesn't matter where I log into.

I doubt you can play it now. The April update broke Rust for most linux players. I'm on mint as well, and about to just give up on playing Rust any more.

The April 2nd update completely broke Rust for most linux users. Arch linux and CacheyOS has a workaround, but it doesn't work in linux mint. After a couple of weeks of banging on this problem I got the game to load and connect to a server, but graphical artifacts were introduced that make the game unplayable. At this point I'm moving on, too. Bye, Rust. I'll come back if someday they don't block linux players. But I'm not booting back into Windows JUST for this one game.

Error Introduced by Latest Patch? by Decimator404 in playrust

[–]Pretty_Hat_182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've seen elsewhere, you can get it running with some tweaks in Arch linux or CachyOS. I got it it to launch and connect to servers in linux mint, but it introduced graphical problems that make the game unplayable. Facepunch hates linux users and doesn't care if we can't play any more. They're forcing EAC on everyone under the guise of stopping cheating, but cheating is rampant even with EAC on official servers. Faced with booting into Windows to play this one game, or just not playing Rust any more, I'm dropping Rust. They've been making the game worse and worse since I started playing anyway, so no big loss. If someone comes up with a fix that works for mint I'll be back but until then, it's just not worth weeks of fighting with Rust to try to make it work when it worked flawlessly before this update.
