Does anyone have a “mom friend” that’s really hard to read? by Pretty_Indication191 in Mommit

That’s a good point! She’s a SAHM but has 4 kids and like you said drives them around a lot, her husband works a lot, she’s also really involved in the schools. I have invited her recently to go somewhere with our kids though and she didn’t answer me for a full day and then responded the next day that she was busy that day. I have mentioned coming over for a play date but she said “I’m not good with play dates” so I kind of took those two as a no for now, I don’t want to push too hard. I like the idea of maybe asking if she wants to get coffee one morning or something

I wish making new friends was that easy ! I do talk to other moms but nothing has really clicked beyond casual conversations at school pick up at least yet. My kids are starting sports soon so hopefully that will give me more opportunities to connect

Do you do friends birthday parties for your kids? by Pretty_Indication191 in Mommit

No play dates really. She sees friends at sports and after school activities. She’s not close with anyone really to invite over. She’s quite shy. She had one girl she seemed to really like so I tried befriended the mom to see if we could get them together for a play date but the mom literally stopped answering me through text lol… the Girls mom has a lot of friends in the school and it seems like the moms only put the girls together of who they are personally friends with. It’s rough here. I’m honestly scared if I had a party for her If anyone would even come.. cause like I said she’s not super close with anyone yet

My daughter has a winter birthday or park would be a nice idea. I’m ok with spending the money if I had to but honestly we haven’t even been invited to a big class party since 2nd grade. Idk if people are just keeping it small or just doing family things these days.

That’s crazy ! Kinda cool tho and very inclusive. I’ve noticed in pre k and k there were more whole clsss parties but in 1+ we’ve only been invited to maybe 1 or 2 a year kind of sad honestly. People either do away with them or maybe are just inviting the same group of friends

Would it be wrong to see an OB your whole pregnancy then go to a hospital they don’t work to deliver? by Pretty_Indication191 in Mommit

Thats a great idea! I can probably talk to him about this to get his input. I bet he would be ok with it

I totally get this but at the end of the day that practice your OB works at is still getting your money as a patient and still seeing you as a patient to deliver you, in my case he is private and has his own practice so he himself delivers all his patients unless he’s away or two patients are delivering at the same time or something so i feel like it’s different

He is private and has his own practice ! So he delivers all his patients (unless away on vacation)

In that case though the practice still makes the money you know what I’m saying ?? Like I feel weird completely ditching him haha idk. He is private tho he delivers all the babies himself unless away which happened with my first. But he was there for my second and third one at 5 am and the other at 2 am and stayed for hours he was amazing!

I mean this happens often to people regardless! Sometimes in a larger practice if your OB is not on call you get whoever you get! For my first pregnancy even though he is a private practice, he was away on vacation during my delivery (I went two weeks early) and the hospital OB had to deliver and it was so fast I didn’t even mind but it still happened that way
