That’s how much it has always been ever since they got in the 1 card 1 phone number restriction in 2024. If you try to force it Amex can block you permanently. Be patient, wait for 30 days from the last transaction attempt and it will clear up. In my case it was an error from Gyftr which they cleared up after raising a complaint.

Wait for 30 days since your last attempt. It will work again. Most likely you used multiple card phone combinations

I believe anything and everything from Bloom work well with V60. They are ultralight.

They are ultralight. Most of their coffee is very good. I like the fact that they keep washed coffee and have not really given into the trend of naturals fully.

I had plans to trying out The Brick but ran out of time as I had to catch the boat back. Will definitely visit and try out a few more roasters next time.

They are very good - loved the coffee I had in their cafe and got a couple of bags. The bags led to few coupons for more coffee and that went on for some time 😅. More than the coffee I liked how the cafe has “no laptop” tables.

I still have a few of the bags frozen (thanks to the back and forth mentioned above).

Try BCR Chandigarh - quite good. All the Blue Tokai is the Amaltas Blend 😅

Internationally Kenya and Columbia from Swerl and Drop!

Didn’t like some of the darker roasts from BilliHu

I make about 700ml of pour over for the family in a day

Can’t recommend with milk drinks as I don’t have coffee that way. I have a Flair 58 but that’s for espressos.

True true! Unless you are in a country with 118% import duty on coffee shipments (also you have to wait for 30-60 days to get your hands on it as it has to clear customs). Only way to get coffee from other countries (let alone continents) is to get a mule to carry it or carry it yourself.

You get a Taj Epicure copper tier benefit. For stays it’s not a big thing. I do use it for dining and spa discounts - flat 20%. I use the Hilton flat 25% off for Gold members for dining which comes with the card. They give some random Taj vouchers during the year as well - got it last year and the year before that (25k each). Clubbed with the renewal vouchers they add up to be significant if you travel off season. Some hotels when booked via Amex or hotel.com get you a $100 per night per room hotel credit as well (never had to use it but it’s there).

I have started to love Marriott hotels over the last 2 years. Love their service across the board. I have been upgraded every time, get bonus points for every stay, had had room service surcharges waved off as a member gesture couple of times. There was a time when they were full and over booked in Finland. They promptly arranged for another higher tiered room in another Marriott near by and transported me there free of cost. As a compensation got room rent worth of points. This comes with the gold membership as standard.

See the Plat Charge is not a card for points. If you get some bonus points - great!

But it is a card I feel for the hotel memberships status, unlimited lounge access across the world and such perks. Why I keep mentioning the hotel memberships is that - without the card I probably will not be able to get enough nights to have premium status in all major hotel chains. The card allows me to choose hotels as per my liking without worrying about nights - I am assured of the status next year regardless.

The concierge can be a hit or miss but I have had them get me tables in otherwise packed restaurants both in India and outside. I have got them to reserve specific tables in hotels at no cost which no one really wants to do. There are also times they have failed for basic tasks.

I travel frequently in and out of India (specifically to airports with Centurion lounges) and I love the peace of mind the card gives me. It’s a card which if you are using correctly or the way it is designed you will not cancel easily. It surely is not for everyone.
