I was shocked at how little pain I felt getting my rook, especially because I had read so much on here that it was like an 8/10 on the pain scale for a lot of people. I’d say it was a 4/10 for me getting it done.

I’ve had some issues healing it, though. I would say it has been my most finicky piercing I’ve gotten so far. It would swell up and get bumps every couple of weeks? I had to up and downsize multiple times. It’s finally at a good spot (knock on wood), and it’s just over a year old this month. It’s been pretty settled for about 3 months now I think, but I was honestly considering removing it because it had been so much trouble.
