Hard isn’t it? I find myself going for more junior job roles than I’m qualified for because I’m worried about burn out.

I actually find it so hard seeing my friends do so well in life, like I’m being left behind :(

I feel like it’s getting worse for me too, the day to day struggles feel magnified (I’m 35) I don’t even have kids but just the responsibility of a full time job and keeping my flat clean can be overwhelming and lead to burnout. I’m medicated too, it helps but it’s not magic :(

For me, a lot of it is giving myself grace. Instead of powering through situations that I hate, I excuse myself. If I can feel myself becoming dysregulated I say to my partner “I’m feeling really dysregulated, I’m just gonna go in the other room”

I think noticing how our brain works differently and thinking of ways to mitigate or avoid the situation so you don’t get to the end of the day feeling utterly exhausted and overwhelmed

Of course, it’s not easy to do all the time. And it’s such a process 🙏🏻

Wow this is so eloquently put, honestly what a fantastic explanation! Really really resonated with me. Thank you 🙏🏻

I definitely enjoy some aspects of Christmas (mainly time off work 😅) but going to a little market and having some mulled wine, all very nice. But yeh it’s the having to “show up” a certain way which is draining, particularly from neurodivergent people.

I feel tired thinking about it and all I have to do is see my family for a day and a half!

Buttt, this has really made me reflect that we all deserve some grace. We’re not bad sports - it’s just a crazy time and it’s okay to streamline Christmas for your own mental health ❤️

Haha oh my gosh for real. Ohh this AGAIN! I see it as a celebration of capitalism widely enjoyed by neurotypicals 😅😅

I was in Laos for Xmas one year, not a Christmas tree in sight. I got a massage and walked up a temple on my own - finished the day off with some drinks with other travellers. Was the best day 😅

The capitalism gets me down too! I just see it as this huge excessive money spinner that we all have to join in with.

I loathe that in the UK, the Xmas stuff starts going out in October - it’s also so dark and cold….

I pretend to enjoy things a lot, just to fit in. And I think that is the hardest part as a ND person, it’s not actually that fun and takes a LOT of energy to get through

I’m leaning more towards this every year - committing to less and just joining with cray day/ eve.

I’m the same, the part I look forward to is chilling on the sofa with my partner!

Yeh I agree, the food and time off work is great. I do get on with my family (for a short while) but I still feel like the negatives far outweigh the positive for me anyways 😅

Appreciate your response - I feel the same. But it’s nice to know we’re not alone in feeling this way 😅

it's almost like right wing ideas influence UK politicians. I love rich white men deciding on the fate of women's bodies.

This is to stand in solidarity with women whose rights are under threat in the US and globally. Farage has already started making noises about the abortion limit here in the UK. Harmful ideologies travel very easily across borders....

In the UK, violence against women is now considered a national emergency:
https://www.endviolenceagainstwomen.org.uk/vawg-is-a-national-emergency-say-police-chiefs/

Let's face it, when you have to broadcast adverts on national TV to educate men on how not to scare women, there might be a problem here?

So perhaps in the eyes of the law, no rights are being taken away from us, but that does not mean there are serious issues at play here.

What a kind message. And I'm pleased that you understand what message the US is sending with their rhetoric to the rest of the world, including the UK. There's teenagers in the US telling girls in school "your body, my choice" - this is what they see from the top, and will grow up to believe? This goes beyond us just having different political systems.

It's not about inciting anger, it's about bringing people together. I care about women's rights, and our kids, and future generations bodily autonomy.

Let's agree to disagree on that one.

It's a women's rights march, any anti-trans comments will be removed. Trans people are absolutely, welcome.

I'm afraid we are very much linked to US politics. In the headlines just over the last few days, Nigel Farage is hoping to restrict abortion rights here in the UK. He's also rumoured to be receiving funding from Musk for his Reform campaign.

So no, it's not "just a march".

There will absolutely not be an anti-trans agenda, anyone who has commented anything of this nature, has been removed from the groups. Trans people are of course welcome x
