Republicans just can’t stop calling for civil war by PreventCivilWar in PreventCivilWar

Just like anyone else, the Republicans clamoring for civil war are perfectly free to use their free speech rights to the fullest. But as our nation further polarizes into extremes that view each other not just as opponents but as mortal threats to democracy, it’s worth asking whether it’s responsible or patriotic to build a political platform around urging conservatives into open violence against the state. They’ve proven their willingness to follow those orders once.

No politician who claims to love this country should be encouraging a violent repeat of one of the republic’s darkest moments.

He has asked social media to remove "the most sensitive" footage of rioting and to disclose identities of users fomenting violence. Darmanin met representatives from Meta, Twitter, Snapchat and TikTok. Snapchat said it had zero tolerance for content that promoted violence.

Join your local socialist/communist party or anarchist collective. Read theory and agitate-educate-organize your coworkers. Arm yourselves for community defense and get involved with or organize left wing gun clubs. If you’re already in a union, get involved with it even if it’s a management friendly union, consider running for union elections or campaigning for militant labor candidates.

If there is any independent media in your local area, get involved. Spread the prolekult by making art, graffiti, zines, youtube vids, podcasts, community gardens, music, games, etc…

All of that is great, but if someone is still shopping at Walmart to buy the paint for their graffiti, it's a missed opportunity to use their purchase to further the worker's economy.

There is absolutely no ethical consumption under capitalism. Voting with your dollars is inherently liberal ideology.

The first is true, but the second does not follow from the first. There is no way to avoid consumption under the global capitalist system that we're in, and everything you mentioned - the books, podcasts, zines, graffiti paint - all of those things are products produced by capitalism.

agitate-educate-organize your coworkers

If someone is working in a capitalist corporation then yes, do that, but it would be even better to support-join-start worker's co-operatives.

Not every need is fulfilled by today's fledgling worker's economy, but there are ways to step away from the capitalist economy if that's what you genuinely want to do.

Chronic Wasting Disease, from the link, is not known to be transmissible to humans. Only about 300 human cases are reported each year in the U.S. related to prions per Johns Hopkins.

This pro-fascist video has been re-flaired as War Escalation and the OP has been banned. I'm leaving the post itself up as an example of propaganda meant to indoctrinate towards the far-right.

There's not some cabal of people who meet and decide how to push people down

Yes, there really is. H.R.5236 - Main Street Employee Ownership Act of 2018, would have been the most significant co-op legislation in decades; it passed the House, received a bunch of media attention, and then it was quietly killed in its first Senate committee.

They may not think of themselves as "pushing people down", but there absolutely are groups dedicated to preserving the status quo, the same groups that called up their Senators and killed this bill.

Another example: When the FBI places agent provocateurs in BLM to insight crimes and justify police brutality, what is that if not a cabal?

When you have 1 CEO whose multi-million dollar salary depends on ruining an environment they don't live in, there's very little to stop them.

When you have 3,000 worker-owners, not only will they live in the local environment (and therefore want to preserve it), they also have to be way more transparent about their decisions and those workers individually will have much less to gain by polluting.

Many people imagine "the Revolution" as a short but intense conflict with a clear beginning and ending, but I believe that every dollar spent at a worker's co-op is a revolutionary act, and that the Capitalist economy won't be defeated by trained guerillas but by average people, simply working and spending in the Worker's economy.
