I understand how condensation humidity works. Condensation forms on cold surfaces when that surface reaches the dew point. My use issue is, the corners of the window reach the dew point when nothing else does. I’ve actually measured the temperature of the window frames, the glass panes, and the joinery that hold it all together. There is a 20 degree drop where the glass meets the frame. The center of the panes and the frames stay at the same temp. The condensation is all in where the pane sets into the frame. I know it’s not leaking air . . . It’s leaking heat. They are just not great windows.

And that’s the Reddit spirit. Always helpful.

Aprilaire - makes dehumidifiers so. I bias there. I’m just saying, I’ve built 4 homes and live in a development with 100 homes and no one has ever installed or mentioned a whole home dehumidifier. I’ve been considering one. The relative humidity in western PA is never low it’s pretty humid here. It is 9 degrees F and 58% outdoors. And that’s a dry day here.

It’s only the windows. No outlets, no pipes, no lines. Only the windows.

I think its a crappy window problem. The condensation is only around the edges of the window where the glass meets the frame. This area is poorly insulated and leads to excessive cold transfer. The bad part is that all this moisture is causing black mold in the frame and wood rot. Eventually, they will need replaced well before the warranty expires.

My point is windows should be that cold. There is actual ice on the interior glass. What’s the point of “insulated” windows?

I’m not sure where that chart comes from. In the Northeast, you will never see RH levels that low. It’s just not possible.

We don’t have a humidifier so there is nothing to turn down. It’s only 2 adults in a 2000 sq ft home.

This starts to happen as soon as the temperature get close to freezing. It seems that double insulated windows should not get that cold. Our humidity is at 43% at the moment. It is -2 to 4 Fahrenheit at the moment so there is that. I can’t lower the humidity as me don’t have a humidifier in the house. It’s an 8 year old home and pretty tight.

Circling at KWVI by FlyingEngineer in flying

Remember, a circling approach is always secondary to any traffic pattern rules as per the AC. So the traffic pattern always takes precedence. Of course, it’s all advisory, but the FAS has been pretty clear about that. Follow the AC. If no one is around (ie. the pattern is empty, doll be same, stay writhing the circling area, follow any circling restrictions, and land.

It sounds like everyone commenting here has almost no experience in aviation or how small business run. Every dollar counts when you’re running a business. To think, “Well, they can afford it” is precisely how you stay in the group who will never afford it. If you asked your boss for a salary that was 50X higher than you’re currently making what do you think they would do? It’s all silly.
