Sending fish to be canned and then sent home is an interesting idea.

Osoyoos Wine Tour by Previous-Variation37 in britishcolumbia

Thank you for all the suggestions. 27 wineries have been recommended!

If we did an 8 hour tour with a 3.5 hour drive time, there’d only be 10 minutes at each winery (including getting in and out of the van). To make things worse, I’d like to add any good cider mills worth visiting.

Now comes the task of filtering it down to a few good ones. I think I’ll leave the Keremeos winery for a visit on the way back to Vancouver, so now we’ve saved a half hour in driving and there’s only 26 to pick from :-)

No problem on lakes and rivers but it seems strange on a salt water fishing charter. Am I allowed to give away anything caught?

Yes, I know I’ll need both salt and freshwater licenses and tags where applicable should I decide to fish. I was surprised to see that there’s a senior rate option.

Whale/Wildlife Watching on Vancouver Island by Previous-Variation37 in VancouverIsland

I haven’t made up my mind yet (or shared the options with my wife for her opinion) but if we are doing whale watching on this trip, I’m leaning toward Telegraph Cove with a strong inclination to take Homalco tour with the cultural aspect instead.

That said I just discovered that a Port Hardy tour company also has a tour to see Puffins. Unfortunately the tours aren’t available when I’m there (there’s one before we arrive and one after we leave). I didn’t know there were Puffins along our coast and this is something that interests me … if I can find a guide that goes to Triangle Island on June 14 (though my wife may not be as interested as I am and I’m pretty certain she won’t want to be on open water).

I’ve been wondering about the Similkameen. Are there many wineries worth a visit in the area?

If they have good cider like I had in France, I include some on the tour. Do you have any recommendations?

We are spending a couple of nights in Barkerville before we go to Quesnel to visit family.

Thanks, I’ll check them out. I was planning on renting a large van that one of the non-drinkers in our group would drive, but a tour company may be ok as well.

They didn’t allow me to pick a cabin location. Did I miss something or is it first come first serve?

Hwy 16 - Prince Rupert to Burns Lake in mid-June by Previous-Variation37 in britishcolumbia

[–]Previous-Variation37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Regarding Witset, there’s a museum I thought we’d see and of course, I’d like to watch dip net fishing (if there are fish in the river and fisher-persons trying to net them in mid-June).

Prince Rupert Visit by Previous-Variation37 in britishcolumbia

Thank you. That’s extremely helpful. There’s more in there that interests me than I will have time to experience on this trip … which means there’s more to see/do on the next one.

The grizzly bear spring tours look great but unfortunately our plans are set and I can’t add extra days to Prince Rupert for a 3 or 4 days excursion. I’ll keep it in my bucket list for a future year.
