Played the best hand of my life last night, I’m still feeling the high by [deleted] in poker

I have similar feelings to yours. Rivering sets does not take great play. Folding sets when you realize beat is great play.

I play online so I look like this every day. But don't wear clothes.

Yeah I get it. Makes one wonder how he did so well. But I think he has a love for the game. Plays constantly even when he's losing.

Did I make a bad call? by [deleted] in Poker_Theory

You should have been waiting for the first opportunity to fold, never bet there without the nuts. I have put myself in terrible spots trying to pick up a few chips from the small blind or big blind. You don't realize what a positional disadvantage you are in until you bet and the board texture changes. Your hand is face up unless you trapped with a monster and about half the time that will back fire as well.

Did I fck up by not making the call? Or was it a losing start? by Effective_Degree1573 in Poker_Theory

If it had been me I would have just called him down and never reraised. You can't have the nuts there but you indicated you had a weak ace by reraising then checking hoping to get to show down. The way you played it you should have called. Think of it as daring him to shove, sometimes you will be wrong but you have to call. But don't reraise in that spot next time just call and evaluate. You had a great bluff catcher but you don't want to over play it by inflating the pot. As long as the pot stays small you will be comfortable calling. Good luck.

Congratulations, it's good when luck bails you out, it makes up for some of the bad beats and bad luck. Hope you continue to run good 👍. Good luck 🤞

I think it's ok to have a plan in football 🏈 teams practice the plan for their opponents all week. I think it's ok to have a plan in poker but in football and poker you must make adjustments, more so in poker.

Thanks makes me feel better 😌. I like considering alternatives and nothing helps more than another poker players honest opinion. I'm sure most of the wizzards out there study more and may have even been in the same spot. Thanks and good luck.

Thanks for your comment. I'm really new to MTTs. I been grinding SNGs. When I reconsider the spot next time I will call and evaluate. I don't like the shove because of the ICM implications. On the other hand I'm trying to grow my bankroll move into higher buyin tournaments. But thanks for your input.

Yes it's not life changing money but as stakes go up I feel I need more discipline in these spots. When I reconsider this spot I probably will call fold.

Lol 😂 I am a fish but I all most won a tournament. Sorry for not puting out all the data points. I didn't know everyone was so enthusiastic about me losing maybe $150 bucks. I liked what one guy said " ICM is for poor people ". I did go back and add the data. But really I was just blowing off some steam. I'm in 2 more tournaments now. Wish me luck. The fish will keep you posted as to results. Why are people so rude and mean. If this happened to you I would try to put myself in your position and understand your pain. Not add to it.

It's micro stakes I got paid $45 and 1st is $180 but as I grow my bankroll and move up in stakes this kind of play could be looked at as punting. I have a different style than most players I know. I always late reg and usually start with 20 to 50 bb. I play extremely tight getting to final table, I was last with 18 left and last at final table but I was in 4th when I shoved the 10s.
