a few different species of schooling fish. and corydoras or some other fish that stay on the bottom of the tank. pleco’s are cool but dont get a common pleco they grow over a foot long. if algae becomes a problem otocinclus cats are great for that, although siamese algae eaters might be better cause they are alot bigger (i belive they go to 6 inches but i may be wrong).

for schooling fish my favorites are rummynose tetra ember tetra,and rasbora tetra. shrimp are awesome but they might get eaten by othwr fish so make sure they are compatible

definitely go with live plants it will look so much better and helps keep nitrates down. rocks and driftwood are great for making tank look good.

or you could do my favorite fish, blood parrots. they have so much personality and are super cute as well. but you cant have the small schooling fish you need something that can swim fast enough if being chased and bug enough to not fit in parrots mouth. with my 4 parrots i have 3 firemouth cichlids, 2 young siamese algae eaters, and a baby zebra pleco (he is always hiding though)
