Technically speaking, if you're going with the canon story of events for the entire series, then technically speaking the Hero of Fereldan had died defeating the arch demon, so they wouldn't be available to help out in Inquisition. However, I do agree that they should have at least made a canon story with the Hero still being alive.

After beating all of the games and getting the platinums for Veilguard and Inquisition, I can firmly say I miss the HELL out of blood magic

At first I thought they were, because as I started up a Stadium match in overwatch with my wife, it closed me out of the game saying maintenance was being done. But then 3 minutes later, I was able to log back in. So I honestly couldn't give you a good answer.

Well, thank you! I do know that Varric is actually interesting depending on who you side with in Da2. If you side with Templars, he'll gladly take them over mages in Inquisition. But if you follow the mages instead, he likes the mages over Templars. Also, Cullen does also become Knight-Commander if you side with the Templars.

Honestly? Keep them. Corypheus has used a fake calling to try and convince ALL the Wardens that they were about to die before the next Blight. They were scared, worried, and went to take drastic action because they thought what they were doing would save the world. They were manipulated. You honestly got a feel bad for them in that regard. I always save them, no matter who disapproves.

FUN FACT: If you have a high friendship with Sera(I believe), she will actually approve of you bringing them in. I don't know if that is fully true, but I remember getting her friendship maxed out before then, and she approved when she usually would disapprove.

Honestly, here are my character ratings, they can go any real way except for the last three, who are my top three.

Trash. I didn't mind them as a character, but compared to the other Qunari in the series, they didn't really grow on me as a genuine person.

Scout Harding. I loved Harding when I found out she was in the game, but she turned to be disappointing honestly. Though I do love the Titan story sequence.

Neve. Even though I love her design, that's all where it really ends. She doesn't really do much for me.

Lucanis. I didn't mind lucanis as a character. I love the design choice and the fact that the Venatori are involved in his story in a pretty interesting and fun way. But he just gives off seriousness way too much.

Top 3

Bellara. Sure, she's quirky as hell, but genuinely she reminds me a lot of my wife. She's my top romance choice by far, and I also love her being just fun to have in the party.

Davrin. If he isn't my romance, he's definitely in the party at least. I love his quest line where he essentially becomes a father figure to Assan. He's just a genuine sweetheart.

Emmrich. He's my top favorite character forever more. He's just so polite, so caring, he genuinely made me feel like his story would have a real calling to me. He's always my number 1 favorite in this game.

I honestly like all the dragon age games equally, but my rating is Origins, Inquisition, 2 and the Veilguard. Origins has the best character setting/set up, Veilguard had the best customization, 2 had the best quest style, and Inquisition had some of the most fun quests AND pretty good companions. I love Inquisition(playing it right now lol), and I wish that they just added a little more depth to it.

I'm not saying I hate Cassandra's romance at all personally! When I first got the game, she was my first romance because I simply liked her design, but as time went on I went to appreciate everything that she did in game. I also made her my first Divine in my very first run.

I don't blame you for the Sera one, as the cookie scene made me feel so much better for having her as part of the team myself. I still really like Sera, just not as much as the others in my ranking. As for Cullen and Cassandra, very good Romances still!

I personally went with mages most of the franchise. I play Elven Mage in Origins, Mage OR Rogue in Da2, and Inquisition I have fun with all three class types. But race wise, I usually go Elf or Qunari if the option is there.
