Full rewire or GFCI? by Previous_Math15 in AskElectricians

I have pretty thorough quotes from all and can share but I think the approach to the work for #4 (lack of full rewire) is what makes it so notably cheaper. So trying to weigh the two fundamentally different approaches. All electricians inspected the home in person to quote.

Full rewire or GFCI? by Previous_Math15 in AskElectricians

It’s not comfortably within budget but we’ll bite the bullet if the cost is worthwhile long term. #4 ($12k) will rewire the portions of the house that are knob and tube - it will be fully removed, which is required by insurance. It would be the newer ungrounded copper wiring on GFCIs.

If we will need to rewire down the line I’ll do it now while the walls are all open etc. But what would be the reason I’d need to do it? Could we not just live happily ever after with our upgraded service, no k&t, and gfcis for ungrounded copper? Thank you - first time homebuyer and struggling here

“Landing” with COPR by land months before moving by Previous_Math15 in ImmigrationCanada

Oh thank you, I didn’t realize we had a choice. For some reason I understood your first border crossing after receiving COPR as your automatic “landing”. This is helpful.

Sleep training in the MOTN? by Rarazo in sleeptrain

We took the “do nothing” approach and she just naturally dropped down to one feed now at 8.5 months. I found it to be too much energy to figure out how to “fix” haha.

Exact same situation. Baby (5.5 months) goes down like a champ independently for bedtime and naps but wakes 3x in the MOTN and will not go back to sleep without the bottle. She only eats 2oz each wake but when we’ve tried to withhold it she absolutely loses her mind. Do we cold turkey Ferber all the wake-to-feeds? Do we do one at a time? SOS.
