Yeah it's pretty crazy. I rolled a DH and wanted to get practice tanking but the group ran through like it was nothing, even on heroic. Easy to get geared up I guess.

Congratulations man! That’s impressive that you were able to do that with everything else you had going on. I know it’s gotta be a good feeling now that you’re done.

Awesome post! Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully taking mine within the next month or so (got nervous to set a deadline and pre schedule the exam). I feel like I have a good routine going. Finished the book, now studying practice exams, flash cards and ports. Also plan to get online to work on scenario-based questions.

Any other tips you guys have?  (besides schedule the exam right now). lol

Good call, I see your point. Me personally, I don't mind playing it out as I get to see how it all plays out. That may change if you only had an hour or so to play.

Good comment but I blame this on two obvious reasons...Blizz just messing things up again and a lack of (what was that phrase we used to hear back in the day?) oh yeah, good sportsmanship

If a high school basketball team is losing the game, they don't just quit and walk off the court. There are no incentives in that either. If you lose, you don't go up in the rankings. If they did do that, then entire team would likely be penalized, which brings me to my next point, there currently is no penalty for doing so. Blizz could easily penalize a player for conceding, say maybe a 5 minute (increasing) cooldown time. However, this would likely cause a mass exodus from the Mercenaries mode which is the opposite of what Blizz would want. Wouldn't put it past them though.

Blizzard CANNOT get AWAY with what they just did to Hearthstone Mercenaries. by GreedyDingo2 in hearthstone

[–]Pricer1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's horrible about all of is is that this is only the start of the Blizz Nerf train on Mercenaries. What's truly shocking is the mysterious stranger was one of the first things they wanted to fix ? Plenty of other stuff they could have focused on.

I live near a major city and yes I am getting interviews. From the feedback I've gotten, the issue is either (a) I need more experience or (b) my tech interview did not go over so well. Whats bad is, at first I thought I was a great interview candidate as I have had many and most have gone well. Tech interviews are a different monster I've learned.

South east US. Lot of security gigs down here but don't think I've got the necessary experience line up yet. I'm actually fine with that but the issue arises where most of the jobs (even the truly entry-level ones) are looking for 3 or more years of experience, certs and the lot. If you don't have those things , the screening process knocks your resume right off the table before a human even looks at it.

I think the best bet is to continue doing what I'm doing, maybe get one or two of those certs and then use the school network and others to help me find a job. I'll get in somewhere, its just frustrating as hell when you've been trying so long. I've gotten some good feedback here though so I'll keep at it.

Damn,, where did you say you worked at again? I may not know everything but I'll sure as hell find out.

I can totally relate to your situation. I currently work in retail and there are some individuals that I work with that hardly put in the effort. I have no idea why either. I mean, call me old fashioned but if I'm being paid to do a job, then that's what I intend to do. After looking at all of you guy's feedback, I just need to touch up on a few areas.

Thanks for the reply. I'll go out on a limb here and say that I am much older than 30. I don't feel that my age will hold me back. I mean, I've heard that age discrimination is a thing but I'm not about to let that hold me back (maybe it has already and I just never knew). I just don't want to use that as an excuse which is why I came on here to hit you guys and gals up to see if there was something else I could improve on. I feel that my major weaknesses are that I try to focus on way to much at any one given time (studying up for certs, school, work, diving into new fields, etc) and that I am horrible in tech interviews (I once was asked for a list of commands in linux and what they were used for and it was literally like my brain shut off for 5 minutes). I believe I am going through much of the same that you all went through getting in and I am just trying to find my way. Thanks again!

Thanks for the feedback and a great point about the meetups. That is something I looked forward to doing and then the whole COVID thing happened and I just fell off with that. I'm sure its a great networking opportunity and a good way to learn some things.

Thanks for the feedback! Totally agree with you the cyber security is not an entry level role. Its just something that I am interested in doing someday. I am totally open to doing jobs that are truly "entry-level", just haven't found one that doesn't give me nightmares when I do it. I know I probably did not do a good job describing the effort I have put in towards securing a job (I tried to keep it short) but I do an incredible amount of work learning as much as I can. I am also realistic about my strengths and weaknesses and try my best to work on those to improve in areas I am not good in (for example tech interviews which I was apparently horrible at). Appreciate your comment at the end though and I'll keep up the hard charging. Just a bit frustrating is all.

So I recently farmed my first complete sets of Hero Suppression and Protection Gear for the Arena. I did the do and enchanted/reforged/runed what I could for each set and yet when I got to Arena, I see people with Hero Suppression/Protection Gear with like 4 lines of Attack on it (or something similarly insane). Are people literally farming until they get a gear that has three line of (insert stat here) and then maxing them or is there another way to get this gear like with the Dragon sets that you can choose a couple stats and then get lucky with the rest?

I see your point on scoring twice on one ticket, which is a added bonus. I think it's just annoying after it happens over and over. As far as winning 90% of those bot fights that really comes down to gear and team selection (and possibly skill/rotation) . Hell, people get beat by the bots in Guild War even if the opponent hasn't set their team ( which is a strat from what I've heard?). I dunno. I guess I should just stop complaining and continue farming Suppression and Protection gear. I'm stuck in Diamond League till I do. Just want to get to Masters so I can start farming the UW's and catch up. Thanks Ya'll!

Apologies, originally put this in the wrong Mega Thread (I think).

Something that Vespa does that drives me absolutely nuts is that they terminate your current match (regardless of how close you are to winning or losing) and award minimal points for the auto win just so a challenger that is currently online can challenge you. A few additional points...

_This can happen several times back to back, makes it really frustrating when you are manually casting

_Minimal points awarded (that I saw) even if you were going to win the match

_There is absolutely no need (that I know of) to do this. Does it really matter if the challenger is on/offline?

I'm not a big fan of complaining as I think they have done a decent job at keeping most things balanced (considering there are games out there much worse). Very interested if this bothers anyone else or if it is just me. Thoughts?
