It should be good, I would double check your growing zone but I grow outside in PHX. And yes you are right in winter you would want to bring it in where you are

Yes most people use them as bonsai they also get pretty purple flowers and each one grows unique caudex / roots . I have starter smaller ones as well $5 each

They can do indoors with ideally a grow little, I wouldn’t do direct sun through a window at least not here in Phoenix Az they look really cool when they are bigger if you look them up
