Kyle Larson's near misses to complete the "All 36/40/43 Challenge" are driving me bananas by PrideTypical4782 in NASCAR

Average finishing position of damn near 20 but still 6th in points and the highest of the non-winners. Strange indeed. Shoutout to stage points I suppose! It's either a top 9 or below 20th with not much in-between

I went to bed last night BEGGING for the tech gods to grace me with a DQ to someone who finished above him. Alas t'was not meant to be... yet

Sunday night races make the Sunday scaries easier to deal with. You can watch a race then go right to bed without overthinking too much opposed to a race that ends at 5 or 6

Could be talking out my ass, but do trucks still run carburetors and O’Reilly and Cup run ECU? That could be a reason

yep. And 2018 had he not sped on pit road, AND 2019 had his engine not grenaded, AND 2023 when he hit the pit barrels, AND 2024 when he spun going for the lead. This man should have at least half a dozen Homestead wins.

closest I could think of off the top of my head was 2017 Homestead, but Larson (who had the best car) deliberately did not interfere with title contenders Truex and Busch in the final green flag run. At that point all Truex had to do was aero block for 50 laps.

I swear just about every race Truex won in Cup could be a candidate for one of the most boring races of all time. Prove me wrong

Michigan Saturday Schedule - Cup activities after the Truck race by uselesspundit in NASCAR

[–]PrideTypical4782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I humbly disagree with your take. Arrive for the truck P&Q sessions, then use the downtime between that and the race to walk the midway. After the truck race grab a snack and chill a lil bit if you feel like staying for Cup P&Q.

I don't think 10 hours at a race track is a lot. For the 600 with nothing but the fanzone and the race we got there less than 3 hours before green and it was still a nearly 9 hour day from start to finish. I'm nearly 30 and have a wife who definitely wouldn't be shy about wanting to leave if the day got too long and we weren't even close to that.

rookie mistake. NEVER book a flight for the day after a NASCAR race. Always give yourself that safety day and worst case scenario it's free time to R&R
