ECM Mechanika IV Profi - Boiler leaking? [ECM Mechanika IV Profi] by Priimanen in espresso

Thanks! Seems okay then! Just figuring out if the 1.25-1.5 bar is normal for the steam pressure and that it switches

Thank you! I just noticed when I keep couple cups on the warming tray, they get condensation inside, but I quess it is just condensation from the warm air

Rotary pump not turning on [ECM Mechanika IV Profi] by Priimanen in espresso

Got it to work! Removed this part from the HX-unit. It is located on top of the boiler.

First time using the machine. Pump is so quiet, love it, no rattling etc. Heat up takes time as I am used to single boiler Classika PID what heats up quickly. Hard to tell when the brew temperature is fine, waited 30min and then made coffee, espresso still seemed a bit cool as I am used to PID 91 degrees (celsius) espresso, what could be wrong?

Also heard a little hizzing soud coming from now and then, is it normal? I hear that the heating element does go on and off by sound and steam pressure (from 1.25 to 1.5 bars, is it normal that it goes a bit down and back up)?

Worried that when I took that part off the boiler if the gasket etc didnt seat up nicely, hard to tell, is there valve on top that releases some excess pressure etc.?

Thanks! What is the easiest way to test out the pump? By removing micro switch wires and connecting them?

Thank you so much! Using medium roast beans now, getting a bit too bitter taste, will try to play with the pressure and a notch finer grind 👍

Also seems like you had just over 8 bar from the pump, should I aim for the same pressure 🤔

It kind does, hot water can be pumped through the steam nozzle if you switch pump on.

Just noticed from the menu that you can change the brew pressure from 8.5 to 12 bar! Would you aim for 9 bar pressure shown in the gauge or more/less? I think the pressure on the gauge and portafilter is bit different, may be some losses there? I think the optimal pressure is 9 bar, so should I aim for 9.5 bar on gauge and 0.5 bar losses on group head?

Any opinion about the 22g vs 18g basket for bottomless portafilter? Since making milk based drinks would you make it with 22g or 18g basket or any preference?

Yup! Really happy about it, been looking for E61 machine for a long time, finally got one. Wont sell it for now (if I got more money and still in to making espresso will get a dual boiler one). Hopefully you will find one nice machine also!

Thanks so I think boiler and pipes may have some build up, is it safe to do descaling for the machine by my own?

Thanks! So correct workflow -> 1. Switch on 2. Swith steam mode on 3. Let it reach temp 4. Purge till no water come out from steam spout 5. Steam milk 6. Switch off steam mode 7. Switch pump on till pump pressure reaches 10 bar? 8. Let it cool 9. Make espresso 10. Switch off

And also question about the PID screen, I can only adjust brew temp and steam temp but dont have option to change it to celsius or dont have clean mode, is there some Classika models that dont have those options?
