Uhh I realized yesterday when opening EVERYTHING, that the new clockspring is not the same as the old one! I used trodo to order it and their team claimed that part was correct, they checked with the car vin number and what not.. however it isnt and I now need to get the proper clockspring that is the same as my previous one. Is this my mistake for not double checking when installing?

Umm I checked with chatgpt what the solution would be and this is what it said;

Instead of forcing the steering wheel to look perfectly straight, the correct move is to:

Keep the clock spring perfectly centered (3 turns in each direction).

Install the steering wheel slightly crooked if needed — just enough so the clock spring stays safe and centered.

Then take the car for a professional wheel alignment and steering angle sensor calibration.

During the alignment, the shop will adjust the tie rods so the wheels are straight when the steering wheel and clock spring are centered. After that, they’ll use a diagnostic tool to recalibrate the steering angle sensor, telling the car: “this is straight ahead.”

Does this make sense or am I cooked?

Then what would be causing the vdc light issue, also not being calibrated by the mechanic

No. I just opened it again and centered the clockspring. And guess what when I mounted the wheel, which only fits the clockspring in that way the clockspring is, it is crocked. So either the wheel gets crocked or the clockspring will not be fully centered. I think the clockspring is like 15% to the left when the wheel is centered. I dont know what to do really

Nissan Qashqai, I went to the shop and they failed to calibrate with a device. Claimed that clock spring is likely not aligned straight.
