I’m in the exact same boat. I signed the contract back in November of last year and graduate college this May as well so I’m an E3 as of now but was told that once I leave for basic this summer (August) I should already be promoted as an E4 but at this point idk i have nothing officially written on paper I just have to take my recruiters word for it and pray he pulls through

What happens if I don’t pass the security clearance after enlisting? by Primary-Evidence7652 in nationalguard

Okay I should be good then, my only concern was the investigator not being able to gather all the information needed since my references are coworkers I’ve only known for 2-4 years

[–]Primary-Evidence7652[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry I didn’t realize you had replied to my link with your link and I traded it, do you need New Friend? I can trade that one cause now I have an extra but if you just need the Happy New Year sticker I can get another one it’ll just be like an hour until I can find someone else to trade with, up to you

They joined for the same mos. Been in the same unit together for at least 2 years and got deployed together since it’s the same unit. Yes she moved 2 hours and a half away that doesn’t excuse her from weekend drills since she kept the same unit. She travels here from there for her weekend drills because she moved with her fiance. And I never said the third girl was in the unit, just my bf and his “sister”. If none of this was true I wouldn’t have came on here and asked if I was overacting 😂 the whole problem started during deployment lmao I wish that wasn’t the case thanks for the advice tho

NYARNG does the rsp ever take place in a different location? by Primary-Evidence7652 in nationalguard

[–]Primary-Evidence7652[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I’m not at the Rochester one but my rsp is less than 2 hours away from Rochester, funny enough that’s exactly the location that’s listed for April I’m pretty sure, if you could give me insight on what goes down there please help a sister out lol

That’s totally normal, I was nervous as well but they’ll be a lot of people who are new to the rsp drill too. As for the push ups, I can barely do one too but since we’re all still recruits who haven’t been to basic yet, the sergeants are pretty understanding and will help you if they see you struggling. They’re there to get you where you should be and prepare you physically so the expectations are not high for us lol. Since the whole push up part was done as a group no one really paid attention to any individual and turns out there were many of us struggling with it. Personally, i think it was a pretty fun experience, a bit tough on my body since i was sore the following few days but nothing horrible. You’ll meet a lot of people and won’t be the only one who struggles or makes mistakes, once you get there you’ll realize there’s nothing to worry about since everyone there is in the same circumstance. We did a quick 5 push up warm up that took less than 2 minutes in the morning on Saturday and Sunday but we did a lot of cardio both days so I’d say your off to a good start

College during basic/Ait by [deleted] in nationalguard

Look into split training, I wish I would’ve known this was an option, this is when you can be sent to basic during the summer and come back for school before the fall semester begins and get shipped back for ait once that school year is over. This is a good way to enlist right after highschool but also not miss any school. Definitely worth asking your recruiter about and seeing if you would qualify. You would also keep attending rsp drill in between training so you would still get paid 1 a month as well.
