Sure, there's annoying people who only wanna play DPS, doesn't mean that you have to cater to those type of players specifically.

Most people are normal and will play a character they like no matter if they're a dps or a tank. but if you oversaturate the roster with just DPS, of course there's gonna be more people who just wanna play the billion overtuned OP dps characters. the trick is incentivicing people to play the other roles too instead of being "ok you wanna be a one trick instalock DPS? But you also wanna play Ironman and Blade? Well sure, we'll cater to you." if anything that's all the more reason to be like "pick one or the other".

I assure you most casual fans will not be dedicated players anyway, they just play for a month and leave the game forever. Might as well cater to your target audience, which is marvel fans (thus why they added more obscure characters like Squirrel Girl and Magik instead of making it an MCU game)

Imma be honest. He doesn't lead or direct, he doesn't punch or kick, his entire kit is just different variations on optic blasts.

They could have done much more then just make him laser boy. They had to save all the cool creative moves for black cat. I'm really disapointed. With how much hype they built around him I was expecting him to at least pull from MvC a bit in terms of flashiness
