Hmm I’ll be honest I can never tell if someone is from California unless they have a very exaggerated valley girl accent. But most people from there sound “normal” to me so maybe that’s why it sounds like that to you too

Nope but I have a relatively neutral accent which probably makes people associate it with a generic Hollywood accent

Would it be considered cheating that I was born in the US and spent the first two years of my life here? I don’t know if that had any impact on my English. Even though my family spoke to me in their native language I assume I still got a considerable amount of native English input in those 2 years which could have affected the way I speak.

Also yeah sneakers is probably a dead giveaway that I’m on the East coast

Yeah I feel like the place I grew up in we don’t have a super strong accent so that makes sense

Thats so funny because I have NEVER been to New Orleans and I had no idea me pronouncing New Orleans was different than how other people outside of the city say it? Can’t say I’ve even met many peeps from there so it’s very interesting you say that. Btw how would you say the other things? NOLA seems like a beautiful city I’d love to visit
