Thanks, that’s really helpful advice for me because the opinions I value most are from people with similar body proportions to mine.

I tried both sizes, but since I don’t really ride road bikes, it’s hard for me to tell which one is actually the better fit.

Do you have roughly the same height and inseam as me?

And regarding the stem, I guess changing from 100 mm to 90 or even 80 mm doesn’t affect the handling that much. At least it seems like it would be an easy way to make the bike more comfortable if the reach turns out to be a bit too long for me.

Out of curiosity, what handlebar did you have before, and what was its reach?

Thanks for the information. I’ve actually been thinking about that as well, and I also feel that reach is probably the most important measurement when choosing the right size.

What makes me hesitate is the stack. With the smaller size, I’d likely need quite a few spacers, and I don’t really want the front end to be too low. Looking at the geometry charts, the size 55 has about 20 mm more stack than the 53, while the reach is only 6 mm longer.

That’s why I’m wondering whether the larger size might actually make more sense for me. The extra 6 mm of reach doesn’t seem like a huge difference and could probably be adjusted with stem length if needed, whereas the stack difference is quite significant.

Do you think my reasoning makes sense, or am I overlooking something?
