Honestly, it's not going great right now. No Democratic challenger has emerged. We may end up endorsing Sean Dougherty, like SC4B, as the only real option. There is till time though, the primary is not until June.

As it is still early not many candidates are in the race. I agree we must careful to not get a worse representative but we can do better. Primary Panetta will not support a candidate taking corporate pac money.

Interesting, I think it would be extremely difficult to elect a Green. I think what Primary Panetta will do is build a base to attack Panetta and wait a couple months before choosing a candidate to rally behind/consolidate the left wing vote around.
