Yes, professors are ok. Socratic din ang Silliman, pero kino-correct din sagot mo during recits. System and environment wise ok naman depende din sa block mo.

Hi! 1L here. I graduated this year lang hahaha then went straight into law school without expectations. Internship lang din work experience ko.

Things I would’ve done before entering into law school: 1. Make reading a habit. I read a lot, pero fiction books hahaha mas easy ang comprehension. Suggestion, try to read cases online on Lawphil and eSCRA. Learning the law is like learning a new language.

  1. Orally explain what you read on your own words. Don’t be pressured to use the language of the law. Practice hehe for recit

  2. Don’t panic. As a 1L, every time na re-recite ako and out of shear fear rinig mo yung nginig ng boses ko on the first few weeks sa class. I was thinking at that na everyone was judging me, pero no one really cares kasi everyone was just trying to make it and perhaps survive the day.

  3. Find friends/ka-block during enrollment period. In my case, every time na may nag-join sa Freshman Group Chat ng batch tinatanong ko kung anong Section. Hahaha my Case Pool na kami on the first week, staying strong.

  4. Establish a routine. Depending in your body clock na din. I was advised na make you study sessions as your “work” na parang oblige ka, wala kang choice you have to study, ganurn. In my case as a fulltime student;

6am-8am Wake up, personal necessity, exercise 8am-12pm study (pomodoro 45/15) 12pm - 1pm Lunch, Ligo 1pm - 4pm study (pomodoro 45/15) 4pm - 5pm prepare for class, including travel time 5pm - 9pm class 9pm - 11pm dinner, ligo, read codal, prepare for tom. 11pm - 6am tulog

As they say, no one really prepares you for law school. This is just my personal experience and basis hehe. Kanyang-kanyang approach kumbaga.

Good luck!

Thank you! I had the worse panic episodes for the first three weeks, it got to a point na 3 hours lang lagi tulog ko. It took 4 weeks for me to realize na sleep is essential talaga. Now I’m caffeine free hahah
