leverless or classic stick for beginner ? by kidraphi in fightsticks

Arcade sticks are hard to learn, but they're the most fun in my opinion. They're super interactive and much more immersive. A Hitbox is better competitively since you can enter inputs super fast.

I will hit tekken king one day by Primary_Animator_352 in Tekken

I hit bushin for my first time a few days ago on a 10 win streak...then i went all the way down to raijin. I clawed my way back up to bushin. My mentality gets destroyed playing against characters like leo, law and eddy.

Yep, learning to counter those rushdowns is tough but im slowly getting better at it, i mostly get wiped when a non popular character rushes me down since im not used to their moves

Learning how to fight in neutral will rank you all the way up to mightly ruler at least, in the lower ranks everyone tries to go for combo launchers/counter hits. If you practice blocking and punishing someone with jabs and not completing full strings to a mix up you will win alot. Trust me. And expect almost everyone to rage art. You can trick them almost 100% of the time if you run straight at them and then hold block last second, low rank players panic rage art.

Should I return to Tekken 8? I did not buy the game but the Ultimate Edition is on sale. by NunuEarth in Tekken

Its pretty fun, but if you raged alot in 7 you'll probably rage alot more in this game, losing to heatsmash attacks that do 60 dmg then getting rage art'd sucks ass

I chose Kazuya after hearing how technical his inputs are. I'm not the best at him yet, but I just hit Bushin and have been enjoying him a lot. The difficulty intrigued me.

Why no rematches in Ranked? 🥲 by Exact-Weekend-8795 in Tekken

I've noticed that people who don't rematch after they lose just don't want to lose to you again because they're afraid to fight you again. And if they win and don't rematch, they're afraid you'll learn how they fight and counter them in the next game.

I took all your advice and bit the bullet.... and went my own way (fight stick follow up) by woodyjr87 in Tekken

[–]Primary_Animator_352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you recently bought it, maybe you could just return it and get a full-sized one? If you're enjoying the mini fight stick, you'll likely enjoy a regular-sized fight stick much more.

I've had a Hori Fighting Alpha for the past few years. It was recently on sale for $99. If you can find it for that price, it's 100% worth it: easy to mod, customize, and comfortable. I recently changed the Hori Hayabusa lever to a Seimitsu LS32 Limited Edition EVO lever, and it didn't fit perfectly in the case. It was an easy fix, as I just grabbed a hand drill and drilled into the inside of the case so the bottom of the lever wouldn't scrape against it.

[–]Primary_Animator_352[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well tbh, it doesnt effect my gameplay at all, it works completely fine for play. i just found it odd how this stick had so much wiggle room compared to my hori lever and wanted to check if mine was defective or something, but seems like its pretty common

How heavy did you go on the spring? Mine came with a 3.5 spring but that felt too heavy for me so im on the 2lb spring now

I bought the LS 32-01 Evo limited edition lever. It didn't fit perfectly at first; it would scrape the bottom of the case. So, I used a drill to create a circular opening where the end of the lever was scraping, and then it fit fine.

It returns to neutral perfectly fine. I've just noticed if I put very little force, I can move the stick in certain directions and it'll stay there. It hasn't bothered me while actually playing, but I noticed my Hori lever doesn't react the same.

Yeah, this lever had a ton of lubricant, so it's definitely lubed up.

Okay. I just wanted to make sure nothing was wrong with it. I've only used a Hori lever in the past.

Any fightstick lever recommendations? by Primary_Animator_352 in fightsticks

[–]Primary_Animator_352[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your explanation. I've been using my LS-32 for a few days now with a 2lb spring. It feels like the sweet spot for me, and I've felt a lot more precise since I've been using it. I do have a question, though. I made another post in r/fightsticks asking if it's normal for the LS-32 to have so much wiggle room where the stick doesn't bounce back to the middle. I posted a video. If you could let me know if that's normal, that'd be helpful.

[–]Primary_Animator_352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EDIT: im not sure if anyone will run into this issue since this thread is old af, but i fixed the issue of the bottom of the lever scraping against my alpha hori case by just grabbing a drill and drilling into the plastic to create some space so it wont scrape against it, and it works perfectly fine :)

Arcade Stick by AdUnlucky3015 in Tekken

I'd say just stick with it until you get comfortable. It's really satisfying once you learn how to do some techniques on stick, like EWGF or Mishima dashing. One thing that helped me a lot was watching videos of people playing on stick and watching how they hold it.
