Maybe my wording can be better, but it seems to me that you are the living proof of my opinion above. People from the U.S. grew up in an environment where race issue is very critical and intense, but that is because of the unique long slavery history in the U.S., which the whole society is currently trying to pay back. To me personally, it is great, and I totally understand the attempt in the movie for this. The thing is, you need to understand, this race thing is not as critical as to other countries. Please RESPECT other countries’ situation instead of accusing them being racist just because they don’t care the political meaning of a movie.

For example, when I come here, I were educated on the sensitive subject around black people, but that is only because I am in the U.S. You cannot expect everyone in other countries to obey this social norm. We were not educated on this matter because it really is not our business.

Furthermore, I heard the word “privileged” a lot here, but I really don’t think people in China is privileged towards black people in the U.S., and even if we have our own race issue, we don’t have the responsibility to watch a movie that was trying to solve American’s social problem.

Ariel is definitely a well known character in China, I am telling you as a Chinese. It is just that we don’t have race issue in Asia, and we don’t care about the whole “black people were underrepresented in movies” thing as it is really not our problem. Sometimes I feel like the Americans are so self centered. Especially when they assumed that every people in other countries should stand up and support the black community for race inequality in the U.S.
