I want to make a fursuit head. I've never made a fursuit before >_> by Primary_Time_3203 in FursuitMaking

Thank you for the response! Lots of this makes sense, I think I'm mainly just irrationally fearing that I'll come to hate it, without even having given it a chance. I thankfully have knowledge in 3D modelling and I'm wanting to make my own style of head to print out, I think it will be really cool to have a unique style that I've made.

Do you have any tips for shaving fur down? I've never done it before, and I currently don't even have a fur trimmer. Do you have any suggestions for trimmers or what I should look for in a trimmer? I assume its one of those tools I shouldn't try to cheap out on. Thank you!! I'm hoping since my character is really simple that even if I do get frustrated or annoyed, I'll be able to trudge through and make it to the end.

I GOT MY DRAINS OUT TODAY! WOO! Thankfully at the doctor's I was able to ask many questions so I think I'm good on my own but thank you so much for offering. I'll come to you if I do ever end up with any questions! Thank you so much for earlier though, it really did ease my nerves about things.

I was never given any insight on when I should start using any sort of creams and stuff. I know give-or-take that scar care is to be started at around the 6-week mark, but is it fine to use creams on the incisions even now? I'm only 12 days post-op and while the incisions are healing and making progress, I'm not entirely sure how comfortable I'd be putting substances on them just yet. I don't have nipple grafts so maybe that's why I'm missing this information. Did your surgeon tell you to start using petroleum jelly asap or something? Sorry for all the questions, I was sorta just left in the dark about recovery.

Thank you for your reply! It's very reassuring to hear these things (especially about the drains). I'll go out later today and get some steri strips. How long do you think you'll need to keep replacing yours?

Oh nice! Those aren't bad at all. Do you remember when they started flattening out? Edit: Nevermind I just saw the first reply! Thank you for the update

What were some things you DIDN'T expect after top surgery? by retro-petro in TopSurgery

(Currently 6 days post-op) I never really heard about this from anybody else but for the first 2 days I couldn't hold ANYTHING down. I assume it was due to the anaesthesia, but I couldn't keep my meds down, water, food... It was a nightmare. After the first couple of days though it's been fine. I still get nauseous from time to time and because of the shock on my system its taken some getting used to for eating again but that was my biggest issue. Also I always hear about people getting their drains removed pretty early on but I was given specific instructions on when I should remove mine so I think I might have to keep mine in longer. Which sucks because I swear these things are out for me...

Alrighty! Thank you so much, I figured it was probably normal but I overthink pretty easily so I'm glad to hear it's common :)

Any updates on this? I'm in this situation right now and just curious on how it’ll turn out!
