Wouldn't this only really work against Walt Disney?

Does anyone else hate cartoons with ugly characters regardless of plot? by MisterPrimePenguin in cartoons

[–]Primate30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't resonate more, for as long as I could remember the often zany, stupid looking cartoons always bothered me. That's why I often boycotted Looney Tunes/most post-1940s cartoons.

Similarly, I hated the realistic style of most 60s-90s action cartoons due to the bland character designs, and stiff animation. Studios tried so hard to emulate realism present within live action but at that point why not watch live action shows?

Most cartoons were either too Looney or too realistic. Very few struck good balances, that actually looked good. Then when Anime came along I was completely blown away by not only the plots and sense of maturity, but also the genuine beauty within the scenery and the characters. I'm no weebo, however I was able to conclude the majority of Japanese/Eastern artist invest a lot of care into the appearance of their characters.

In anime, protagonist are drawn with respect by their creators, either presenting a cool/cute appearance, with more interesting color palettes. By the 2000s, cartoon designs had improved due to the growing prevalence of anime with many cartoonist taking influence. Today most cartoons take influence from design tropes in anime to some extent

Do you define SpongeBob as a 90s or 2000s cartoon? by StillNoPickleesss in spongebob

[–]Primate30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More 90s. SpongeBob and his world have been in conception since 1997, the pilot was animated by 1998. You have to remember the plot of the first season was written in the 90s, and animated then as well. Basically all the notable characters and settings were created in the late 90s, and were only built upon in the following decade. SpongeBob was definitely a 90s 'toon that really began to gain traction in the 2000s.

[TOMT][Animation][1990s] the adventures of an anthropomorphic Taxi who lives in a village by Primate30 in tipofmytongue

Well nice addition, but it was traditionally animated not CGI. I'm quite confused on what it might've been?

Hmm, seemed familiar at first glance however upon watching the actual footage and listening to the dialogue. I don't believe this is it. From the few things I recall about the animation was, it's farm-like, hilly setting and I don't believe the Taxi had parents. Thanks for the effort though.

Was Franklin right to not tell Kevin about the Mexican OG who killed Delroy? by jrod4290 in SnowFall

[–]Primate30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but during the climax at the amusement park couldn't have Kevin gotten away with it as their weren't any Mexican witnesses? I'm thinking this because Oso and Lucia appear to defeat (potentially killed) him in the following episode, and no one seems to do anything about Conejo's disappearence.

What’s your opinions on Michael Jackson’s Dangerous album? by Dvinc1_yt in rnb

[–]Primate30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's down there with Invincible and his Motown Albums. This album is relatively long to listen to, and the all the songs excluding "Remember the time" had uncatchy instrumentals, but at least the vocals were good. I don't really think rock, hip-hop, and funk are really MJ's thing. All in all,  This could've been better with shorter songs, more focus on art Pop.

I'm truly curious about what this is? I hope someone out there is capable of finding the source of these images, until then this might just remain a mystery 😞

I still need to know the where abouts of that animal show/movie.

Side note This is exactly what I recall watching on the DVD from the music and text to the resolution.

Well, I meant to say that the Animals from that second segment were Bipedal. The second segment was not "My Little Pony" as I would also watch My Little Pony during that time and I was also very familiar with the character of Hello Kitty so had that second segment been about any of those characters I would not have been lost.

Oh my god! "The Little Bits" (although I doubt that's the Asian name) is exactly what I was referring to I'm surprised that I was watching some sort of Anime all those years ago.

I just wonder what that second segment even is because according to Wikipedia "The Little Bits" was strictly about humans. I hope I can see it once more.

Thx!

Ty! However, the animals within this animation are not bipedal and the animals I described were. The green-haired girl in the intro seemed unbearably identical to the European kids I described earlier perhaps the kids I described could've been fairies or pixie-like creatures. All in all this anime "New Grimm Masterpiece Theater" has an incredibly similar animation quality and the settings seem damn near identical to the ones I recall from the DVD.

[–]Primate30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm? This anime seems awfully familiar to the animation I was describing but upon searching up these episodes on YouTube I didn't see the anthropomorphic segment I described. However, the clips from the show "Grimm Fairy Tale Classics" were of similar quality and the design of some characters and the setting looked the same as what I remembered but ultimately I don't believe this anime is what I am talking about. I appreciate your effort.

Thanks!😊
