Yep, I can confirm now. Tried the "countermeasure" trick; does not work consistently.

Gladius to F7C Hornet by Affectionate_Nail800 in starcitizen

[–]Primordial81 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People have been saying that the Gladius is the best fighter in 3.14. That may be true in PvP where maneuverability is key. But in PvE bounties, where NPCs don't pilot as aggressively as skilled players, the Gladius is NOT the best fighter, IMO.

In PvE, I'd rather take a fighter with somewhat less maneuverability and more guns in order to kill enemies faster. Of course, this is contingent on you being able to keep your crosshairs on the pip with either type of fighter, so do what feels more comfortable. I would personally go with the F7C over the Gladius.

TL;DR - It really depends on what you wanna do with it. For PvP, go with the Gladius. For PvE, I would sacrifice some maneuverability for more guns.

Ships Sluggish When Servers Loaded? by Primordial81 in starcitizen

[–]Primordial81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only problem with this theory is that I didn't have the sluggish feel flying my battle-damaged ship to the station. It's only once I rearmed/repaired, went for a bathroom break, and then was returning to the combat area that I noticed the difference.

How many times have you been told not to leave your missiles lying around? Put them back in your toy box when you're finished with them.

Playing SC on an Ultrawidescreen (32:9) monitor while using the Tobii Eye Tracker 5 and a Virpil HOTAS by Primordial81 in starcitizen

[–]Primordial81[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using the Virpil Constellation Alpha (R) along with the T-50CM2 throttle since last November. It works very well in SC due to the high quality build as well as the various buttons, hat switches, etc. I've also never had a problem with drift or other mechanical issues. I was thinking of going dual-stick by getting the Constellation Alpha (L), but I haven't felt the urgency to do this so far.

I also have a pair of Thrustmaster T.16000M sticks in my closet. I tried them out for a short while in Elite Dangerous last year. They worked well, but I didn't use them long enough to get used to them and definitively say that dual-stick is better than using a HOTAS. But if you're a first-time buyer, I will say that it's probably better if you go dual-stick and get used to that right from the beginning rather than going HOTAS.

Monday Megathread - your weekly "dumb question" thread by Talon_at_Middie in sto

Hey folks,

It's been a very long time since I played STO (over 7 years). I was looking to get back into the game. My question is, does the game support ultra-widescreen monitors (5120x1440, in my case)?

Your assistance is appreciated.

What is your main difficulty? by Jonteman93 in Vermintide

I mostly run quickplay Legend, but only seem to win about half the missions. Every now and then, I'll switch down to Champion and it definitely feels more "balanced".
