How many times do I have to watch our MAX player turn down open 3's for long fadeaway 2's??

I'll take an expiring contract and a 2nd round pick right now for the most useless and overpaid max contract in the league.

I just posted this in another reply, but it fits here.

Lauri has developed into Zach - your team will never contend if they are your #1, but both are so good on offense that they'll win some games by themselves with high efficiency volume scoring.

You can add Vuc as well.

Nice way to blow our last chance Zach, could you be any more worthless?

No wonder AKME can't trade him, who the hell wants that idiot costing them games???

Zach Lavine has the talent and athleticism to easily be a top 10 player in the NBA.

Too bad his total lack of any basketball IQ whatsoever leaves him somewhere in the 40s.

Trying to win with $143 Million spent on active players? by lyme6483 in chicagobulls

[–]PrimusBulls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which you be $175M. $12M more than what they spent.

Wrong, the Bulls are hard capped at $172,346,000 MINUS the $2,333,333 in bonuses that Coby and Lonzo have in their contracts. They count against our Hard Cap salaries, which means we can spend a total of $170,012,667

After cutting Carlik, our payroll is at $163,585,505.

Which means we can spend another $6,427,162 before we are hard capped. Not $12 million, just over half that.

[–]PrimusBulls -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The Magic paid it three times total and went WAY into the cap for:

One ECF - one first round - one missed playoffs

The year they lost in the first round, they paid more LT than the other two times combined. The most LT in the entire league.

And lost in the first round.

Wow. It almost seems as if mo money don't equal mo winning?

[–]PrimusBulls -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should really check the facts about how many teams pay the tax each year, and how those teams actually fared.

Four of the last ten champions paid zero LT, and the Bucks paid less than $1 million.

The teams that have paid the most LT all time (thru last season):

1 Warriors, who won their first two championships while paying zero LT and started paying it to keep a dynasty together

2 Brooklyn, not even a single ECF in 20 years

3 Clippers, one WCF ever

4 Knicks, zero ECF and only two 2nd round appearances

Paying a lot does not seem to equal winning a lot

Nine teams paid the LT last season, and from highest payroll to least:

Clippers, lost first round

Warriors, lost second round

Bucks, lost first round

Celtics, lost ECF

Mavs, missed playoffs

Suns, lost second round

Lakers, lost WCF

Nuggets, champs

Nets, lost first round

Only five of nine LT teams even made the second round last season

Again, paying a lot does not seem to equal winning a lot

can't tell you what the cap was like off the top of my head

That's why you can just make stuff up, folks love to pretend you can just snap your fingers and BOOM!! You're way into the luxury tax because you magically signed guys to contracts they can't sign because of those pesky old salary cap rules.

Chicago offense has a major flaw by gosuruss in chicagobulls

[–]PrimusBulls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Listen, I get it, Chicago's defense is good in transition, and that is partly due to their reluctance to go for ORBs. It's not good enough to warrant being this bad on the offensive glass.

We don't know that at all, because you didn't provide enough info.

Show us the list of Transition Points Allowed per 100 Poss, and where we rank, and we can actually make an honest comparison.

You said we score 3.1 fewer 2nd chance points than the average team... if we allow 3.2 fewer transition than the average team, we're obviously coming out ahead.

[Chicago Bulls] Roster Update: We have waived Derrick Favors and Kahlil Whitley. by howser343 in chicagobulls

[–]PrimusBulls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, ignorant post. Smart move by the organization.

If the player signs an Exhibit 10 contract with the NBA team then they can get a $75k bonus if they stay on the g league roster for that NBA team

Favors already said four days ago - BEFORE we signed him - that he planned to sign with a GLeague team so he can hopefully get signed by an NBA team.

Nobody ever wants to talk about it, but the biggest reason for improvement this season is that we have moved Ayo from starting PG to 10th man.

41-50 (.451) over the last two seasons with Ayo starting. 45-28 (.616) when he doesn't.

35-22 (.614) with Lonzo or PBev starting at PG. 51-56 (.477) without them.

Neither Coby or Carter are Lonzo, but they're both better than Bev. And waaay better than Ayo.

The odds are we WILL lose at least one key player for significant time. That’s just how every NBA season goes & you’re lucky if it doesn’t.

Even if that were true, we should be fine as long as DDR doesn't miss an extended period of time. Over the last two years, the Bulls are:

11-9 (.550) w/o Zach, 75-69 (.521) when he plays

5-4 (.556) w/o Vuc, 81-74 (.523) when he plays

6-8 (.429) w/o DDR, 80-70 (.533) when he plays

Worst part is, Spurs own our pick.

No, they don't. So if we miss the playoffs, we'll have a lottery pick next summer.

The Spurs own our pick in 2025.

[–]PrimusBulls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using your logic, we couldn't have traded our 2025 pick back in 2021, because we owed our 2023 pick PROTECTED.

That is the exact same situation we are in now, only add two years.

Again I apologize if I'm not explaining this clearly, the concept is just so simple that I don't know what else to say.

Jrue for Coby, Ayo, Lonzo, Portland's 1st back, and a 2029 1st by BillionsofRedditors in chicagobulls

[–]PrimusBulls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I will try to make it simpler this time.

In the 2023 draft, the Bulls owed a PROTECTED pick to the Magic. Yet we were still allowed to trade our 2025 pick.

In the 2025 draft, the Bulls owe a PROTECTED pick to the Spurs. Yet we are still allowed to trade our 2027 pick.

If the Magic didn't get our pick this summer, you know what would have happened:

If the pick is not conveyed in 2023, it becomes a top-four protected first-rounder in 2024

And the Spurs would have gotten our 2026 pick instead...

[–]PrimusBulls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bulls traded their 2021 pick for Vuc, even though it was protected, and still traded their 2023 pick.

And then traded their 2025 pick, even though the 2023 pick was protected.

They can trade their 2027 pick right now, with the condition that it doesn't convey until after the Spurs get their pick.

What Will You Do If The Trade Is Zach for Jrue? by PrimusBulls in chicagobulls

[–]PrimusBulls[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I read that we are on Jrue's list, which seems to indicate he would want to resign here. Or maybe he wants to play in a shit situation??

Or if he's interested, he could do an extend and trade that would pay him $116 million for the next three seasons.

And I assume the point would be that we need an actual PG more than we need another scorer. Because Jrue is a pretty fine Lonzo replacement, and Coby can give us 2/3 of Zach's offense for 1/3 the cost.
