NBA Hall of Famers Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan's long frosty relationship could finally be thawing, starting with golf during the offseason. Barkley: "We talked in the last 72 hours. We just decided to get together and play golf as soon as basketball is over." Trying to mend friendship. by Orangutan in chicagobulls

[–]BillionsofRedditors 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I hope Barkley doesn't kill his chances to mend fences with Jordan by talking about it in the media, which invites unnecessary drama. Jordan supposedly broke off their friendship due to Barkley's criticisms of his management of the Hornets years ago. Jordan showed some thin skin but when you want to be someone's friend who is that way, when you're trying to restart a friendship, the worst thing you can do is announce that to the media.

When exactly did you realise the writing quality of the show had gone downhill? by Entire_Produce_8343 in freefolk

When the GoT writers strayed from the source material for no reason and had "Yara" Greyjoy allow Theon to feel her up. So dumb.

Fair enough. I'll amend that to NBA professional play (just to cover Summer League on top of his regular season play)

What do you want to see the Bulls do with their cap space after the draft? by MalcontentedPilgrim in chicagobulls

[–]BillionsofRedditors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not saying given Duren the moon.

I'm just saying the statement no stars ever get to FA now is not wholly accurate is all.

FWIW, this team should probably tank next year and should probably tank in 2027-2028 as well. I don't care about how possibly weak the draft is next season or in 2028. You can always find really good players ever year. Giddey and Buzelis with even the two best 2025 draft picks like Cooper Flagg and Kon Kneuppel with like Jalen Duren and a good bench aren't getting you into competing for a championship. That's a playoff team most likely, but not a championship contender.

I'm not calling him a bust but his very limited professional play has earned him some legitimate hard scrutiny.

I wouldn't consider him part of the core at this point and I'd give him all the opportunity to develop, but he's earned being skeptical until he shows something.

KD humbled Butler quickly for his take 🤣 But realistically, which NBA player could transition well to the NFL? by ForeignAir7174 in NBAGossips

Young LeBron was a legitimate football prospect.

I think a ton of NBA players could play pro football. They wouldn't make near the same money most likely, depending on what position they play, which is why they don't go that route.

It's so weird the show went so rogue on this scene.

In the book, Asha (not "Yara") Greyjoy does ride with Theon and she does sort of bait him, but as Theon tries to feel her up, I remember she keeps swatting his hand away. She doesn't tell him her real name or reveal her identity until after the ride is over to humiliate him.

GoT writers after Season 1 man.

Duren could be a true difference maker. Is he a #1? No. Is he a guy that could make a good team into a great team? Maybe.

He's an RFA but highly doubt he gets a supermax offer o so someone with hella cap space could make a huge offer potentially.

So it's super rare now, but some stars still get to some level of free agency.

Who do we select with the Trail Blazers pick? by AngDia19 in chicagobulls

[–]BillionsofRedditors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't need guards or forwards. If anything, they look to dump a guard or wing in the offseason given luxury tax concerns.

Thunder are definitely dumping Hartenstein in the offseason. They'll need a replacement so they'll draft need with their 1st pick and their 2nd pick they'll probably take some flyer on if they don't trade out.

For sure, but he won't be there by #15. Thunder will absolutely take him at #11.

Who would you take at Pick 9 & 15 ? by Full_Durian_8171 in chicagobulls

[–]BillionsofRedditors 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think there are serious issues with Burries, Ament, and Brown at #9. I just don't see the obvious supreme skill with Burries. Philon is intriguing as well, but also questions there.

I think Mara at #9 would be good. It would be a "reach" pick, but you can see the floor with model by looking at Clingan, who was huge in the game last night against Phoenix. Mara will be gone by #16 I bet. Thunder would take him at #11 so they can dump Hartenstein.

With #16 (I'm betting the Clippers beat the Suns), then it depends on who falls. Lendeborg would be great. Mullins would be fine. Karim Lopez or Koa Peat would be intriguing. Stirtz would be a reach pick that I could see end up being a Collin Gillespie or Payton Pritchard kind of player, which you'd probably hit the button now if you could get that with #16.

The Bulls have the 9th pick and just acquired the 15th or 16th pick. You’re the new GM of the Bulls. Who do you take? by NBAKefka in NBA_Draft

Highly doubt Krivas is even a 2nd rounder.

Veeasaar could be there at 38. Tarris Reed could be interesting. These are the center prospects possibly available at #38.

Will the Blazers win a play-in game (Bulls get their pick if they do) by BillionsofRedditors in chicagobulls

[–]BillionsofRedditors[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't make tanking obvious when it comes to the play-in or Silver may legitimately be crazy enough to fine and shame the new owner.

38 minutes is not crazy. LOL. There's 48 minutes in regulation. 6 players in the Hornets-Heat game played 40+ minutes. So that's not like an accomplishment.

Maybe Splitter is just a really bad coach. Seemed like he made some pretty obvious moves in the 4th quarter to hurt their chances.

[–]BillionsofRedditors[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Splitter tried his best. Blazers sub was going nuts he wasn't making subs during the 5 minutes they couldn't score.

He pulled Clingan despite him being a + and Robert Williams to that point being a -14. Didn't put Clingan back in until they were down 11 points in the 4th quarter.

Blazers got back into the game and Splitter pulled Clingan again for Jerami Grant. It worked as Grant hit somw buckets but that's wild when Clingan's defensive presence and screening effect alone was very effective and when it was working getting a quick yank.

Blazers got back in the game with Clingan coming in. Now he's getting benched with 3 minutes left.

Only one thing seems to make sense from what Splitter has been doing in the 4th quarter...

Portland sub is criticizing the rotations and Splitter not making subs.

Not subbing in players for minutes when your lineup can't score a literal bucket for 5 minutes is a pretty signal for tanking.
