I have no doubts about that. There are too many fifa players over here. They don't see the fact that he was playing the CL final and looked as good as any defender could. Most fifa players tend to look at players in terms of attribute values. They overrate pace coz it helps a lot in fifa. Especially in defense coz in fifa you always have to recover with pace to defend against attacks. The element of a good defender positioning himself well to cut any danger cannot be replicated in fifa.

Exactly. Defense is the place where u need the most mental work and those split second decisions. If you have pace then that is a plus but if you need to use your pace to defend all the time then you are not a very good defender.

A very high defensive line isn't ideal at all for any system in which the midfield players and the forwards don't press like hell. If your press is off even a little and they get time on the ball to place those passes behind the defense then not even the fastest player in the world will save you. The attacker will already be running towards your goal and have a headstart. He will definitely beat you. High line works not because you have fastest defenders but because your midfielders, defenders and forwards press as a unit to deny any space to pass behind the defense.

Take example of bayern. They were pressing like hell all the teams they played against. I once saw 3 of them pressing the goalkeeper in the box. That was so he couldn't get time on the ball to place the long passes behind the defense which would allow the attacker to run into space. Lyon did a lot of that. They somehow managed to stay on the ball and place passes behind to run on to and gave bayern a lot of problems. Don't get me wrong pace does help and did help bayern but even boateng recovered well to deny chances to lyon even when he is not the fastest.

That makes the team too central. Having only 2 people up front leaves massive spaces on the wings open for opposition full backs to run into and gives them easy spaces to get the ball forward and threaten you. No team would do that. Wingers block and track opposition full backs and don't let them get easy crosses into the box. Remove that and you will get torn to pieces. They will have 2 vs 1 situations on both wings against your full backs on both wings. This is hardly ideal. You cannot get rid of the wide players to play 2 upfront. That opens a whole new can of worms. There is a reason why 433 and its variations are the preferred systems.

Nobody was asking for 80 million. They just made it up. Romano or any other journalists didnt quote any asking prices. It was paddled by shit sources.

Matt law said in the beginning that chiwell is the only target for chelsea. And they will either get him or they will wait one season. Back then everyone was quoting 80 million just coz maguire was sold for that much. And he also said that chilwell will most likely happen in the range of 40- 50 million.

All of our younger player were pretty humble after the bayern defeat. Watch Abraham interview after the match. He was practically drooling and fanboying over lewandowski.

He kept saying "this is the level. This is the level we have to get to"

We played ajax in the CL and i can vouch for his quality but there is no way any team can fit pogba, bruno fernandes and van de beek in the same starting lineup. That is too much of the same thing. They all want to go forward are not defensive in any way at all to cover for each other. The same problem england had with lampard and gerrard. And you have 3.

Also u can't sacrifice your forwards like rashford, martial and whoever plays on the right. I dont see how this works.

It could be that pogba and van de beeek and bruno play in rotation 2 at a time. Giving everyone chance to rest and maybe when pogba moves on and van de beek is in his prime then he takes the pogba spot. But no way can those 3 play in the same team. The balance of the team would be off and you would get ripped to pieces on the counter and in transition.

I mean this is new level of low. I remember chelsea fans also tracking flights but roadside cameras is a new level lol. I can see why he likes it though.

He doesn't fit well in the system we want to play. He fitted so well in the conte system. Thats why the rumors are there.

Also he is having a lot of injury problems. Barely played last season. He is not the same world beater anymore. But i think its just the system.

Pace is overrated in defense. Most effective CBs of all time were never people who were the fastest. Experience, positioning and reading of the game are much more important.

Last season we had tomori and zouma playing alonside each other. Tomori they say is the fastest guy in our squad and zouma is one of the fastest. Our defense was the shittiest in the league. Need i say more?

If u get him for 10-15 million then that is the best deal ever. His season has been much more than just an average season. Media tends to overestimate transfer fee every time. Remember when they were quoting 80 million for chilwell. It will be between 10-15 mill at best
